Read back a few pages. This was a problem on 2 vtc's I had. I got rid of them for a Treebox and those same ss builds work perfectly on it. If you can still return it then I'd suggest doing so.

The same problems are popping up more and more in this thread.
You ever facepalm when you give people a friendly warning about these and they still keep on merrily talk about prices and buying them...i do

Theres what a 90 day warranty on them, i wonder how many will run that out waiting for a fix....that will never come

*gives you a TreeBox salute*

For those looking to use the device in TC and overlook the warnings thinking their experience will be different then definitely a facepalm, smh
For those who don't care for and not planning on using TC it's a great buy

Fair point, but most people i know who got one wanted it specifically for TC, some of them it was their first TC box...lol, what an introduction to TC....

Maybe I can convince everyone who bought the mini specifically for TC and are unable to return for refund, to sell me their peace of crap useless device for $10 each [emoji12]

Yeah, I understand that y'all have had problems with yours. But try to remember that for each one of you that have had problems, there are 96 or so that have had no problem whatsoever with this device (as with pretty much every device brought to market).

That is all. Continue your bashing.

I completely disagree with this. It's gotten to the point that it's more than a handful of people having problems.

<---- The opinion of someone that's seen 3 out of 3 vtc's being faulty. 2 I've owned, and my dad's that came in a few days ago.

I'm a MTL Tootle-Puffer...(an "analog-convert" vapist vs. a "hobby" vapist)...and have NO interest in TC or high Watts.

But I bought a VTC Mini at a BF Sale price that was less than the first iStick-30W I bought a year ago.

For me...it's GREAT Mod and I feel no regret in using only the VW mode (and rarely going over 12W).

I'm using my evic vt since june, and vtc mini since september. Following those threads here on ecf, really gives you the feeling that 90% of those devices are faulty..But don't forggett, most of the people will post here only when they'll have a problem. I don't have the need to write here every day, how my devices work perfectly with ni200 builds. Butif i had a problem, of course ecf would be my first place to seek for advice.
Also, i don't beleive there is more than 20 people with problems here, although it feels like there are 100's. I'm really sorry for your troubles, but still believe that its a great device for most of us..
anyhow, i know there is a problem with some of those, but do check your wires and 510's before you give up. I had exact same anemic vape experience when my wire got loose.

What does surprise me and would make me think twice before buying one ( if i didn't have them already), is apparent lack of support from Joyetech. When my first vt died, vendor sent me a new one the next day, without asking a single question. Nothing but joy with my evic's since then. Just wish they would make a proper tank with a good rta base to go with it.
Hey Joyetech, how bout a colorful lemo3 drop for vtc's?? ( a month after i wrote here in evic vt thread how cool evic mini would be, it came out..how bout another wish come true? :p )

from Joyetech site:
Resistance Range: 0.05-1.0ohm for VT mode (.05-.06-.07-.08-.09-.1-.2-.3-.4-.5-.6-.7-.8-.9-1.0)
Resistance Range: 0.1-3.5ohm for VW/ Bypass mode

VTC is probably fine {doing its job}
best bet is, device is savin your bacon
there is something wrong, re-check your coil... JMO

Bingo PufZeppelin....I rechecked the coils...one of my leads was just the tinniest bit loose. Now its firing in ss mode and working perfectly. I guess in ss mode you have to make sure all the leads are rock solid. Thanks.

Making sure all of your electromechanical connections are rock-solid is necessity of working temp control. A hundredth of an ohm isn't much, but it will throw your mods temperature estimation off by as much as 100 degrees F (could be lower depending on the wire TCR).
On a mech or high powered regulated a minor flaw can result in a weaker than anticipated vape. On a tc device a minor flaw can result in basically no vape.

Groovy !

that's great to hear !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that seems to be the biggest troubles
kinda if all the rest of the device is functioning OK
turns out to be the temperamental TC...

glad to hear you're up & running again...

Just wanted to add my two cents to the conversation...

Received my black VTC Mini on Thursday after purchasing Monday evening from MFS sale. $35 for the entire kit, shipped for free along with STm and nic base. It was delivered with HW v1.03, FW v1.03, batch #Y08057. The device is solid and weighs slightly more than my Cloupor Chana. Battery life is better than the Chana as well. Buttons feel very nice with no rattle. Although small, I like the fit & feel in my hand better than my iStick 20 & 30W. The VTC greatly exceeds my expectations, especially considering I paid $30 for the original iStick (mod only).

I've been using it in VW mode with RTAs & RDAs. It works great! Onboard charging/"passthrough" works as marketed. Updated to FW v2.0 without a hitch. Hit up my local B&M this evening for TC wire. All they had was tempered Lightning Vapes Ni200 and only in 26g. Wrapped a 2.5mm, 7/8, reading .06Ω on my STm. The VTCm is performing beautifully at 20W & 420F. TP kicks in and regulates power down to 18-19W. Coil heats up swiftly. I'll probably lower my next build to a 5/6 wrap. I had to do some fancy leg bending to get the coil into the STm. It is probably the smoothest vape I currently own.

I now have to grab some CLR heads for the eGo One and some TiGr1 & 304SS.

If there's one weak point to the VTCm, it's the 510 connection. It is really not solidly attached to anything. (Check out the pics and videos of strip-downs, linked earlier in the thread.) I realize it speeds up assembly immensely but I like my 510 sockets to be firmly attached to the housing. It could also lead to issues down the road as it can turn and put strain on the wire and soldered joints. This is not good in general but especially questionable on a TC device. Only time will tell the durability of the setup. The only other oddity I've noticed is the ohmmeter. All my RTAs are built with twisted 30g KA1 @ 1.3Ω, according to all my mods and DMM. The VTCm reads them at 1.45 and "refines" to 1.4.

TL/DR Overall, I'm currently very happy with my new VTC Mini. Now back to vaping... :vapor:
