Joytech is really on the ball when it comes to releasing firmware -- very nice! I went for the 1.3 version since I prefer the old style screen layout. Been using it in SS mode with a Smok VTC tank and the A1-S coils (0.4ohm version). Working wonderfully.
It's it easy to go back and forth between updates? I'll probably just use the latest at first and see how I like it. Can't wait, ordered last night and shipped this morning. Can't come soon enough.

Thanks for posting a screenshot of the new display layout. Not sure if I like the new layout yet, looks a lot busier than the older version. The older layout looks a little more clean and spaced better. Im glad they are at least giving us a choice. I wonder if future firmware updates will include 2 files from now on, one for the "old" style layout and one for the new one.
Yeah the new layout is a bit more cramped since they tried to squeeze everything in tighter. I prefer the bigger fonts on the previous layout showing the resistance - although it's great they're pumping out updates quickly. I've not had any issues with mine since day one but hopefully it cures the problems some folks are experiencing with their devices. Options to choose a particular layout would be nice indeed.

Ss mode works very fine on ss 1.4301. Now i can set the real temperature and not a lower fake temperature in ni mode in cause of the different coefficient. The steps in changing the temperture are now lower and it is now possible to find a better sweet spot. Joyetech- this is now a killer device for a low price - thank you!

I just updated to v1.30. It only took a few seconds and showed the SS temp control setting straight away. Sadly, my Crown tank is more than halfway full and it has the RBA base with a kanthal Clapton coil in it. Once I finish vaping the existing liquid I'll either put a 316L stainless steel coil in the RBA or use one of the normal coil heads that I already rebuilt with 26 gauge 316L SS.

I'm thrilled that Joyetech is putting out so many useful updates for the VTC Mini.

I'm almost ready to order another VTC full kit. I really like the eGo One Mega with the rebuildable coils. I'll rebuild a CLR head with stainless steel later today to see how it works in temp control. I hope it works. The eGo One Mega has slightly more airflow with the CLR heads than the Crown has with the RBA. The Mega never leaks and my Crown always seems to seep a tiny bit of juice juice around the air control ring. Uwell really needs to come out with an O-ring upgrade kit for the Crown. If they did, the VTC Mini + a Crown tank would be my ultimate "small form" combo.

Ok, I'm new to vaping - I want to try a temp control device (I dont like cool vapor), so I am looking into all this (and a bit -ok a lot- confused).

I've only bought one tank so far the nautilus mini. When reading about the temp control mods they say I need ti or ni coils. So then I started looking into that.

Now you guys are talking about stainless steel.

First - normal coils - are they ss? If not, is that something new? Can it be used with temp control? Can you use them with temp control OR vv/vw? Is it only possible to use them with the evic vtc mini? Is it because of the 2.0 firmware upgrade.

I guess I'm asking you to slow it all down a little and explain the basics to me when it comes to TC.

I started vaping about 3 weeks ago. My mig cig 21 (cigalike ish) isnt enough, so I want to go to a box mod. I think I like the evic vtc 60w mini. But I am not understanding the stainless steel aspect of what you all are referring to

so

basics

nickel
titanium
stainless steel

are all wire types that you can use for temp control vaping

they are what younuse to make coils
you either buy them as wires and make coils yourself or buy premade coils

only stainless steel can be used for temp and vw modes interchangeably
