I like the eGo for fruity or minty flavors and the Crown for everything else (mostly doughnuts or yogurts lately). The Crown is simply killer for desert flavors. :thumb:

Hah...I pulled the trigger and ordered the Crown last night. I like custards and creams and vanilla and butterscotch and coffee and stuff like that, so sounds like I'll like it! What do you find quirky about the rba? (I'll be exclusively using the rba, probably)

Despite initially hating the Crown's RBA, I'm back using it because I ran out of their pre-built coils. Built a 2mm ID coil using 26 gauge SS wire and I'm pretty happy with it. The smaller ID improved the airflow of the coil while giving out a more intense flavor out of my butterscotch juice. The Crown is indeed a good match for the VTC mini.

The problem I have isn't that it's stuck in ss temp mode. My problem is it wouldn't stay in ss temp mode and would revert to vw mode.

Make sure to use normal spaced coils below 1 ohm for SS TC mode. If the coils are not spaced or if it's above 1 ohm it either throws the mod back into watt mode or it won't read the correct temperature. What kind of tank and coil are you using?

I have no problems now. I was using a few different rda's with kanthal, nickel, and ss builds. It was doing it regardless of the type of build.

Hmm, I should get some SS wire and see what that's like, though I don't hold out much hope. I'm thinking about getting a Uwell Crown..

As far as VTC Mini v2 goes, pretty sure it's just more colors and updated to the 2.0 firmware, so you're not missing anything substantial (unless you wanted the updated tank...)

shoot for ss wires

even if you cant have it working on tc mode,
you can always use it in power mode

no loss there.

i know a person that has te same issue,
2 solutions we found,
cahnge batteries, some reason it only happens when he uses his crappy awt batt, buit never happens on the vtc

another is grade of ss wires.
it was tested with 304
so any grade with a far off value from 304 will jump out of vw mode

I'll keep that in mind, thanks. I try out different batteries. I'm using 25r's right now but I've got some vtc3's & 4's laying around somewhere.

I'm using 316l right now, but I had the same problem with 1 other ss build and a ni200 build. Now that I've figured out how to work around it it's been flaweless.

Hi, thinking of making a switch to ss.
Either 316l or 317l, which guage is prefered for single rba build?
I have both ST mini and Smok tfv4.
Can ss be used with the original evic vt? I have the original and the new mini. On the original do you use the ti mode?
What is the prefered resistance and wattage for ss.
I know i am asking a lot of questions but would appreciate any help or advice on this.
Thanks in advance

I don't know, but apparently Joyetech used 304 SS for calibrating the temperature control.

No, on a non-TC device (or one without SS support) you can use SS in wattage/power mode. I would be careful about using any old SS in temperature control mode; for instance the pre-built coil heads for the Uwell Crown, while SS, use non-resistive metal as well and are not suitable for TC. If you build it yourself, of course, it's fine.

OOps I have had my crown for a month I have been running it in Temp mode with the SS coils never thought twice of it

Why do you feel that NR-R-NR coils are not suitable for TC?

Where (R) is used in the mix, it acts as a shunt and may(likely will) affect accuracy in controlling Temperature. Supplying Power through an nr-r-nr is not the issue, TC will.

Are people verifying SS compatibility or just assuming All SS is the same(Not) and 1 algorithm will work for all variations? TCR curves vary!

* eVic mini is a Product, sold by a Company(Joyetech) that is in the business of selling functional Matched Equipment.
Joyetech Tanks/Atomizers work on the Evic - Therefor the Device functions. Other Tanks/Atomizers can work on the evic, however for best performance they need to be of matching specifications. <ohm range, TCR>

***Anyone who has Not updated.....Don't blame Joyetech :thumb:

My question is My Crown SS coil have worked fine in Temp mode with the VTC is there a health issue by using that coil or is it just the accuracy in controlling Temperature
