Hey guys, I was wondering if you could help me. I was successfully running my Evic mini in SS 316 temp mode and having a fantastic vape at 500 F 55 watts. Using the Crown tank with the .25 stock coil. I went through a couple tanks, it was good, very good. Anyway, I go to vape with that same setting today and the thing is hitting temperature protection every time I vape it. I can lower the watts and temp way down and it still does it. This is the same problem I had with the Ego One Mega (why I don't use that tank anymore). It's got the 3.0 firmware on it. What do I need to do to get my nice vape back?

Sounds like you're using a dual coil atty. I definitely recommend going for a higher resistance. For some reason stainless steel in TC seems to work best if it's around .5 ohms. Also, try making spaced coils. Contact coils can be hit or miss. I've only had the VTC throw my SS builds into power mode with contact coils.

Always used dual spaced titanium coils, but with ss I did some contact ones and the vtc kept kicking it to power mode. Building them spaced solved that.

Edit: Using a Bellus rta

This sounds like a coil issue. Using pre-built heads can be hit-or-miss. Might I recommend trying the RBA deck for the Crown?

Sort term fix is to take atty off press fire button so unit displays no atty then reinstall & fire to get new coil prompt. read atty base resistance and TC should work fine again.

Long term - there is some instability in coil/atty/510 wiring/board grounding/or electrical connections that must be found and eliminated. This is an issue that has has bothered more than a few with the VTC in past and only a few units out in the wild are affected until the specific issue with that unit is found and eliminated. It usually rears its ugly head when unit wakes from a sleep.

I never get the new coil prompt, I've tried removing tank and restating just goes back to TC

Edit: screwing the tank halfway on method works for me. Seen it mentioned on reddit.
Have to unlock ohms & press fire button without atty connected to get it (or 1/2 to 3/4 removed so center pin of 510 no longer touches center post of atty).

Say I read something and I can't find it but want to know if there is a fix. A friend from another thread said she left hers overnite and went to use it the next day and nothing. I figure it goes to sleep she reinatalled the v3.0FW and it worked but I thought I read another fix if you let it go to sleep and then it won't start up. I figure I will just turn them off at night when I get them tomorrow or next day.

Hi 2legs, I had the problem. When it wouldn't power on and I checked the firmware it had none! Updated and have not had a problem since. I realized I had been experimenting with updating my Pressa with the Evic firmware as shown earlier in the thread so I suspect something with that messed up the Evic. It seems fine now. Sleeps regularly but wakes right up.

Make sure your resistance isn't locked to another coil.

Did this last week without noticing. Had locked my resistance to one coil, forgot, then tried to use another with a much higher resistance and got nothing.

Leave resistance unlocked.

I like the VTC Mini so much, I just ordered the Cuboid!!
I hear ya. I did the same thing. I also ordered a Presa because it's supposed to have the same board as the VTC. Too bad the Cuboid isn't available in white. The white VTC's are sweet.
