All the modes you mention are for Temperature Control vaping. You don't want that. You simply want "power" mode.

Okay I guess I was in the right mode for kanthal. But if I wanted to build coils using nickel in the future i should select temp control nickel mode ? Am I correct? The same for stainless and titanium?

Yes. To keep this simple, Nickel and Titanium are only usable in a temp control mode. Stainless can be used in either temp control or power. Adjustable TCR is an "advanced feature", should you find yourself growing into it. I haven't seen a successful implementation of NiCr in temp control yet. Kanger's is very suspect.

A little late to the game, but I got the kit in the recent compo and thought I'd share my thoughts.

The mod is superb. Small form factor, nice finish, good build quality, nice firm battery door, great display with lots of options. Upgraded it to V3 firmware in minutes.

However I do not like the Ego Mega tank it comes with.
Poor visibility of the juice level because of the restricted windows.
Not enough airflow, which of course is usage dependent and subjective.
Cannot be broken down for cleaning.
The pre-made heads are tiny with accordingly tiny juice holes. Unworkable with high VG juices. I know there is an RBA section, but it is not included, and I'm not buying one for a tank that has other issues for me.

Hey @sonicbomb , im with you on the ego one mega tank. I feel like its airy enough (for me ymmv)but the lack of the (incredibly cheap to purchase, even at a b&m it was 2$) clr head is kind of a downer. Also, i dont know if anyone else noticed this, the drip tip on the mega is a slightly larger than standard size. My regular tips are loose

I bought 2 minis and 2 VTs about 4 months ago. The 2 minis held up pretty well considering the crap this industry puts out. I had to re-glue one of the magnets but thats about it. They outlasted the 2 eVic-VTs I had. Both of those crapped out with internal battery issues.

imo replaceable batteries are the only way to go and well worth the cost of a good charger. before i was a vaper i was into building handheld lasers. i already had a stock of 18650's and a charger in hand so it was easy for me. even so i can't see scrapping a device because the internal battery has crapped out. this is one reason i don't own an iphone. i love my vtc mini, the only (minor) complaint i have is the placement of the bat door magnets allow the mod to pick up everything made of iron nearby ;-)

You really don't have to scrap the mod (or iPhone), you can replace the battery in most 'sealed' devices.
Yeah, I have to. I no longer solder. Nor generally pry things open that weren't intended to be opened.
Kinda odd for someone who was certified in 'high reliability' soldering.

Anyway, no, if I were to get something with a non-replaceable battery (not likely), I'd toss it if it were out of warranty.

I am certified in 1" thick pipe welding, soldering is quite a bit easier. Until you get down to surface mount sized, then it gets quite difficult.

Best thing to do with internal battery mods when the battery is gone is build a box mod or give it to someone who wants it. I couldn't bring myself to toss a perfectly fine device (less the battery).
