Hi

Picked up my new evic vt today, tried using the variable temp Ni function with the Ni 200 coil that comes in the ego one mega tank in the box, but when I tried to use the VT function, it kept giving me a temp protection message, and woudnt fire. I switched out the coil for the titanium one, and had the same problem with the VT Ti function. I locked the resistance but it didnt help at all. It works fine on the VW function, however the vapor is very hot. For this reason I mostly use this box mod with my atlantis tank, and that seems to work great.

Any help with these new VT features would be appreciated.

Thanks

I don't personally own the evic, so I'll leave the technical details to those who do. That being said, I would check and make sure that ALL your connections are tight and not loose at all. Temp control does not like unstable connections. @DanJiblets owns this mod, he might have more ideas than me.

I don't really know if it's not firing it at all. I know it always shows that message whenever the temp control kicks in, which is very often, but it shouldn't prevent it from firing at all. You're sure it's set to nickel? What do you have it set at? Temp, watts? @EW17

I tried to play around with the temp and watts but nothing seemed to work. Currently set at 230 and 60w. It seems to be jumping up and down in wattage and temp when i hold the fire button down and the temp protection comes on and off as I hold ot down, but still doesnt produce any vapor

Set the temp somewhere between 450-500, and the watts at 30. 230 degrees is NOTHING. You can go higher with wattage, but that's what I do so just give it a try and see if that works out.

What Dan said.

If we're talking Fahrenheit 230 is WELL below the vaporization temp of e-liquid, bump to 370ish @ 40watts and work up if necessary. Char point of cotton (likely inside your coils) is around 400-410ish when dry.

Id estimate the majority of people running TC mods are running temps in the 400-450 range, personally run around 440 on a DNA40.

You people seem to like you're temperature control WAY TOO LOW.

The scorch temperature of cotton is 420F WHEN IT'S DRY.

But it's not dry when you're vaping. When it's wet with ejuice the scorch temp is higher than 525F. You should be able to vape at 475-500F with no problems at all. In fact it should perform very similar to Kanthal if it's the right operating temperature. You need to remember that you're not wanting to vape until your wick is bone dry, you're wanting the temps to be as high as possible without burning the wick while the wick is wet, and then start protecting you if the wick starts drying out even a little bit.

No wonder so many people think that temperature control lacks flavor and doesn't produce as much vapor as kanthal. You're not running it near hot enough.

So this keeps happening to me and one of the things that's causing it well there are a few problems.

Can't trigger new atomizer message with Subtank minimscrewed in more than a small bit. When it's nkt screwed in tight you won't get an accurate read

Then the thing goes to sleep and wakes up half an ohm lower and refuses to fire at any temp. Whether resistance is locked or not

The resistance drops despite no temperature changes.

Right now my evic is so unusable. The only fix is constantly unscrew And reset the coil. Every time it sleeps.

And it ticks like a bomb

Occ nickel coils in a Subtank. Checked fkrmware and it ks 1.18

I had to shoot a series of videos for my vendor. If anyone wants to see let me know. Definitely couldn't recommend this device

I've read that a lot of people are having issues using the Subtank OCC coils in the VT. Apparently they aren't stable enough because of the way they're made. Do you have an RDA you could build coils on? I'm having no problem at all using my coils on the VT. The TC mods need a very stable coil connection such as you get when attaching coils with screws rather than grommets.

Make sure you have the Evic in Farenheit mode. If it is in Celsius just run the temp all the way up to the top and then it will switch to Farenheit mode. Try running it at 480 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, set the wattage up to 45 watts. Last thing to try is loosen the atty a tiny bit and see if it will fire. I tightened it a bit too much and I think it was shorting out that way.
