I'd suggest watching P. Busardo's You Tube review of the Evic VT's before buying one.
He didn't seem to think much of their temperature control.

I noticed with the ego one mega tank that the connections have to be just right. When I switch liquids or switch coils, I have to make sure all connections are clean. Make sure the coil is in just right. Not big on the tank, but when it's set just right it hits great in temp mode with the nickel coil. I actually ordered the subtank mini v2 with some prebuilt nickel coils. The mod is great, though.Hi
Picked up my new evic vt today, tried using the variable temp Ni function with the Ni 200 coil that comes in the ego one mega tank in the box, but when I tried to use the VT function, it kept giving me a temp protection message, and woudnt fire. I switched out the coil for the titanium one, and had the same problem with the VT Ti function. I locked the resistance but it didnt help at all. It works fine on the VW function, however the vapor is very hot. For this reason I mostly use this box mod with my atlantis tank, and that seems to work great.
Any help with these new VT features would be appreciated.
Thanks
Great mod IF you use it correctly. Ps. I haven't noticed the eGo One Mega to be finicky in any way, shape or form.I noticed with the ego one mega tank that the connections have to be just right. It works VERY well in ALL modes. Previously I used an Eleaf iStick 50w (with the Kanger Mini) and a IPV 4 (TC) with an Artic (75w)Does it work fine in VW mode?
480 is good. Finally someone that understands VT mods! Kudos.Make sure you have the Evic in Farenheit mode. If it is in Celsius just run the temp all the way up to the top and then it will switch to Farenheit mode. Try running it at 480 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, set the wattage up to 45 watts. Last thing to try is loosen the atty a tiny bit and see if it will fire. I tightened it a bit too much and I think it was shorting out that way.

I don't really know if it's not firing it at all. I know it always shows that message whenever the temp control kicks in, which is very often, but it shouldn't prevent it from firing at all. You're sure it's set to nickel? What do you have it set at? Temp, watts? @EW17
Actully a pack of cigs still only costs $2 to $3 USD a pack here depending on brand.
Just saying![]()
Yeah the temp control is basically always on to keep the vape at the temp you have it set to. You can go higher with the temp of you like a warmer vape. I keep mine anywhere between 450-520 degrees. Basically if you're set at say 40 watts and 460 degrees, you'll hit 460 degrees within a second and then the wattage drops to keep it at 460 degrees. Without the temp control on it the heat would go higher while staying at 40 watts. So it's normal for the "protection" to be on? Mine also ticks like the one was saying. But when I vape, it fires and I get vape, it just gives me lower watts. The guy I bought it from said to start at 470° and 35 watts. I've left it at that.

I've read that a lot of people are having issues using the Subtank OCC coils in the VT. Apparently they aren't stable enough because of the way they're made. Do you have an RDA you could build coils on? I'm having no problem at all using my coils on the VT. The TC mods need a very stable coil connection such as you get when attaching coils with screws rather than grommets.
What Dan said.
If we're talking Fahrenheit 230 is WELL below the vaporization temp of e-liquid, bump to 370ish @ 40watts and work up if necessary. Char point of cotton (likely inside your coils) is around 400-410ish when dry.
Id estimate the majority of people running TC mods are running temps in the 400-450 range, personally run around 440 on a DNA40.
I use my Kayfuns on this all the time, and they work beautifully - it won't fry your cotton! Thanks flr your help -
I built a kayfun v4 clone with gold spring, problems
Kanger subtank with rba, problems
Occ coils , problems
Magma build with single and dual coil, problems
My vendor exchanged it and unfkrtunately theyre making me try another one, which we all know has issues. I for ine am heavily affected by the minimum 30 watt firing as im a mouth to lung vaper i don't usually run anything at thirty watts. So if it fires my 1.2 build at thirty even for half a second it will fry my cktton
Once again joytech rekeased to market too soon and with a pile of issues.
I've learned two things, don't buy joytech and don't buy from the vendor i bought from...speaking of which at some point when its less related i will post a factual recounting of two scenarios and name the vendor. Everyone can make their own mind up
I fully exlect te rellacement to have issuesm and i filky exoect to have to pull ter to actualky return it.
Im finished buying things right after they're released.
