Hey all, I just received an EVOD from fasttech (only 6 days to NC). These are not originals but I was wracking my brain to figure out why. The ONLY difference I've noticed is that the fast tech evod only has 2 holes drilled at the base versus my original has 3. This obviously makes for a much less airy pull but I just thought I would share that in case anyone was wondering :D

I think the base and coil is slightly different. While I haven't noticed a difference in the draw myself, the coils that come with the Fasttch's are not quite as good as the "authentic" Kanger coils. I've not investigated to see if it's the wire, the wick, primer, slightly differences in the wicking chamber, the flavor wicks, etc. I generally replace the fasttech coils when I receive them and either re-wick, or use Kanger coils. That's been the biggest difference for me. The number of airholes is as you said on my orders as well, but again, not appreciable draw differences for me. The good news is that the Fasttech evods are so similar, as to be literally no difference (excepting the coils mentioned) so that I think it safe to be able to recommend the Fasttech evods to others. The reason this is important is that the pricing at $2.45 vs. about 5.99 is significant. Thank you for posting this. Good luck and welcome to the Forum.

I found the EVOD from fasttech is a less airy hit due to the lack of the 3rd hole at the base. The coils though, the fast tech evod seemed to have more evenly wrapped coils (5 or 6 I believe) across the center of the wick whereas the EVOD BCC I have has 6 wraps with hot spots and a gap in the middle. Granted the fast tech EVOD is 2.5ohms and the EVOD BCC is only 2.0 so I am probably comparing two different devices.

BTW - Billbeck, the iTaste you recommended is freakin AWESOME! I am going to buy another one from fast tech soon ;)

Very happy to hear about the iTaste 3.0 working for you. Agree they are awesome. On the evod, I recoil those with 7 wraps of 32 Kanthal and get coils of 2.0 to 2.2 Ohms. I use cotton and silica and prefer the cotton, though you cannot dry fire it. Anyway, glad the evods are working for you too. At the price, it's good news. Best to you!

I bought several evods from FT and I love them. I have not had any problems with them.
I just changed out the head on one with a Kanger evod head and it was horrible, it kinda tastes like soap but I got some good advice from SAG to rinse the new heads before use. I guess I'm still new to vaping as I have never had to wash a new head before use yet. I have been using Ce5s and I never had to clean the heads before use.

This is my comparison from the kangertech evod and the fast tech one!!
How to tell a kanger evod from a knock off!!! - YouTube
Hope this helps...never noticed the air holes thanks!!

Great comparison video. I noticed too about the flavor wicks being total garbage on those. Luckily I just replaced with a 1.5mm silica and havent had any problems. I kind of like the tighter pull on the knock-off though, but that is all personal preference.
