I had this same problem with mine, had it for a few days and it worked beautiful, eventually it wouldn't fire every time,I took it apart to try to clean it and found that the wicks were black,I was running a 70/30 juice so maybe it was to thick for the wicks? Maybe I just got a bad head.

Not a bad head (coil).. just a dirty coil... Leave the juice holding part off, screw the base onto your battery, take off the stem (and silicon cup) press power for a few seconds while blowing on the wick.. repeat a few times 'till you see the nice cherry glow and white wicks.. put the stem back on, and the silicon cup, take it off the battery and put the juice holding part back on the base.

Nice and clean

I just got an EVOD today, the first one was defective and would short out, but they sent me a new one, I took it apart and rewicked and adjusted the coil and it works good now, BUT, they sent me a new one when I first told them about it (before I took it apart and fixed it). The new one though, is horrible, if I screw it all the way on, you have to draw really hard on it to get anything, now if I unscrew it a little bit, it's fine. So I don't think that it's a wicking or coil problem, I just got it today, and have used it maybe a dozen times, it just gives me a headache sitting there trying to draw on it. Any suggestions? All of the holes on the bottom are open, I compared the new one to the old one and I don't see any differences EXCEPT, the new one doesn't have EVOD BCC on the bottom, and the atomizer, the piece that goes over the coil and slides into the air tube, is about 2x's as long as the old one. I know a decent amount about the stuff but i'm lost on this. Oh, and there is NO leaking or gurgling, except for when I took off the flavor wicks to see if that would make a difference, and it didn't.... I'm using a joyetech ego.

I have the same exact problem with my X9 protank. After trying all the techniques posted on this forum the problem persist. I think I have found the solution and so far so good.

Here is the trick that works for me:

Keep the head pointing down so the liquid is does not touch the coil when you vape. It will stop the gurgling.

This should work and for sure it should work if you were down under in Australia, right?

Anyway I rebuilt the Ivod and didn't use the flavor wick(?) and it is working great now.
