The evod normally comes with a silica wick. Longevity depends on how much you vape and the liquid. I use mostly unflavored and fill my evods about twice per day. I get about 7-10 days, then rinse, dry burn, rinse again for another 7 days. I've been using the same coils since thanksgiving.

My wife uses a dark tobacco flavor and 5 days is about her norm. Her wicks get really gunky and it takes some everclear soaking and dry burning to get them anywhere near reusable. Sometimes I'm too lazy to try and just swap in a new one until I get extra time.

The wick in your evod is silica and can be cleaned and dry burned. If it is black as you state then it is probably time. Just take the coil head out and rinse well under warm water. Then screw back on battery and remove the post. (wiggle and pull) Then remove wicks on top of coil (careful these are tiny) exposing the coil. Pulse the button till the coils glow orange and evenly, blowing the ash off here and there. Re-assemble and you should be good to go.Plenty of youtubes on this procedure.

Change it out when you notice a loss of flavor or vapor.

Tip: DON'T THROW THEM AWAY!! You can clean them and use them again and again. Or I prefer to rebuild them with 32 gauge Kanathal and cotton wick! They are super easy to rebuild with the right simple tools.

To clean, people either soak them in hot water or vodka. After the soak pop the top post off (simply snaps on and off), take off the flavor wicks, attach to a battery and pulse the coil to do a dry burn. Blow off the burnt off gunk replace the flavor wicks and pop the top post back on! ready for another go round.

Yeah, I've also got this problem, too. My kit doesn't need cleaning yet (only got it yesterday), but was wondering if cleaning in warm water or vodka would be effective at cleaning? My kanger T3s badly needs cleaning and replacing the wick though, it's been going strong for 2 weeks now so I'm putting that away. Sorry to sidetrack, but can I use the wicks for my Evod starter kit with my T3S tank?

I don't have a T3s, but from what I've read the T3s coil is too wide to use in an Evod or Protank. However, I believe that some people have used an Evod coil in a T3s. If you try it watch for leaks!

Thanks, I may just get a spare Evod tank for my large battery (I've got the starter kit with the 650 batteries and a 900 one, with the t3s. What I'm trying to go for is complete compatibility between parts; I've learnt it's a nightmare needing to buy spares for multiple different e-cigs, and probably cost in-efficient in the long run.

Great picture. Thank you so much. I'm not so "techy" but trying to maintain my coils. I took mine apart and dry burned. That part went good. Now I cannot get the top post to go back into place, on top of the wicks. It is like the post part got bigger around after I took it apart. I just cannot get it to go back in. Any ideas for me, please....?
