Evod's are originally Kanger, however they have been cheaply cloned. An authentic Evod should have a tiny "K" logo and "Kangertech" markings on the base. It may also say "Evod" as well and may either have a 2 or 4 window tank. The Evod I have at present says "EVOD BCC" (BCC = Bottom Coil Clearomizer) on the tank itself. The coil should have the Ohm's written in tiny letters below the threads in the same tan color.

The only way that anyone here could know for sure is if you posted pictures of it. A fake one usually just says Evod on it and no mention of "Kangertech".

It must be a clone....No printing. I am upset that I paid 12.99 each and I bought 2 at the brick and mortor and I see on ebay I could have got them for half that price. I wish I'd used ebay from the beginning. I could have saved a ton of money!

There are alot of plastic evods.

If you got a glass one, that's good.

standard evod:

- protective metal jacket
- eGo thread base
- protank compatible replacement atomizer/coil head

Looks pretty much like mine except the mouth piece isn't removable. It's all apart of the tank. It's too big for my mouth. The plastic tanks I have are smaller. I don't really like this tank because if that. Also I get a cool vape and I liked the warm vape I got from the all plastic tank. But I am stuck with them now and I am going to use them. can't afford to invest any more money at this time.
I have a vv battery coming. Will I get a warmer vape from that?

Here's what yours should look like. The metal drip tip is removable.

The Glass is only marginally larger than the original plastic Evod--is that the kind of plastic tank you have?
As far as temperature of the vape, that depends. The Evod Glass has dual coils vs. single coils, so if you are using a fixed battery it may not be able to push as much power, resulting in a cooler vape with less vapor. A vv/vw device would help with this.

The pen battery you have is fixed voltage. This means that not only can you not change the output voltage, the voltage you do receive from it will degrade as the battery gets used. With your spinner, you will be able to increase the voltage to your coil which will, in turn, make it burn hotter and, thus, provide a warmer vape.

EDIT:
The fact that it's glass instead of plastic makes little or no difference to the temperature of your vape. However, as I noted above, the Evod Glass does come with a dual coil head instead of a single-coil. This means that you will have two coils heating your liquid, also potentially giving you a warmer vape.

In the picture the tank and base look authentic or too close to tell but the coil definitely does not look authentic to me! The top chimney is too short and inner diameter is too small plus the pin is funny looking...

I don't know if this tank has a single coil or dual coil. Since it's not a real evod. I don't know. I also bought some coils. they say Kanger on the blister pack. Don't know if they are dual either. They took them out of a box and sold them to me as singles.
I think I'll call the vape shop and ask it they are dual or single.

This is what a dual coil looks like....

The biggest noticeable difference is the size of the silicone seal on the chimney. The single coil silicone seals are half the size. (the picture is a rebuild with cotton so the wick sticking out the sides look different). Does the package say Protank 1/2, Evod or Protank 3/Aerotank?

Dual and single coils are not interchangeable. If your tank takes single coils then Dual coils won't fit. The singles will give you about the same flavor, the duals would give you more vapor. The dual coils would take more battery power too and you would get a little less vaping time between charges. If the single provide an ok vape for you, I wouldn't rush out and jump on the dual coil band wagon.

This makes me think about my instructions on how to clean these coils I posted to you. The singles have loose stands of wick ("flavor wicks") under the chimney. If you soak these coils and dry fire them to clean them, you'll need to pluck these flavor wicks off before dry firing. I used to roll them on a paper towel to clean them, dry fire the coil then put the flavor wicks back in and pop the chimney on. I'd hate to see you pop the chimney off then blow on the coil and send the flavor wicks sailing into oblivion!
