Well hello friends. I find myself in another quandary. I just ordered the evod from surevapes to give it a go. I'm debating ordering the pro tank as well. Is there much of a difference when it comes to flavor, vapor production, th etc. The reason I ask is that I've learned that the heads are interchangeable which leads me to the conclusion that the vape experience is going to be somewhat similar. If the coils is set up the same. Kind of like if you poor some coke in a beer mug it'll taste the same that it is all aesthetics. The pro tank does look pretty cool but I'm scared it'll give me nightmares that the t-1000 is out to get me ha.

Oh and if I decide to on the protank where is the best price?

Discountvapers has the best price I have found on the heads at just under 6 bucks a 5-pack. They have 1.8 and 2.4 ohm heads but they are out of protanks and will be out of heads soon too I'm sure. If you've never ordered from them I suggest you do. They are a great vendor with superior customer service and shipping speed.

Ya Eric is great I've e-mailed him on weekends and at all hours and he usually replies within the hour. He doesn't have coupon codes but after your fifth order from him every order after that is 5% off your order. It's called the loyalty program. His prices are comparable or better than every other vendor to start with. It is one of my go-to vendors for e-cig supplies.

I've got 6 eVods and 2 Protanks, and I'm done buying toppers for the foreseeable future (although I'm planning on picking up one more Protank when my local B&M gets them in, just to show some support). The eVods get my occasional/novelty/DIY vapes and the tanks get my ADV's. I am happy with my entire stable of Kanger products. The Protank doesn't supersede my eVods, it complements them!

You should be fine with the stock heads at 60/40, Eric. The only juice I've had to remove wicks for was Boba's and a 20pg/80vg I use. The nice thing about the Kangers is the multitude of options available to suit every user. The heads are cheaply replaced and/or with a bit of time and patience, easily rebuilt. Obviously you're almost always going to get better performance from these little guys with a self-made wick and coil. I use 32g kanthal and Aunt Lydia's. Most recently I've been experimenting with using ss mesh in the protank. Very happy with the results so far, nice clean flavor from the ss, and I just use several strands of bamboo in place of the flavor wicks that sit on top of the coil to prevent flooding issues. It doesn't gurgle, it doesn't dry hit. I've TRIED to make it foul up, and I can't!

Check out Todd's review and rebuild of the eVod head... It's the exact same process with the protank since the heads are practically the same, so you can get a good idea of what's in store if you decide to rebuild your own!

dThanks retrox for the great info! I've rebuilt nova heads so it should be old hat for me. I like these a lot better than the novas which are going to the zombie box. The holding upside down crap is over for me. I actually ordered another evod today in blue.

I just realized the only ohm meter I have is on the provari won't work with the ego. Maybe I should get a 510 to ego adapter.

How many tank fulls are the heads lasting for you?

Edit - Todd is great. The video will help.
