Willie, to me it's a balance, and a tricky one at that, to get the trimming just right in tanks like the Merlin and Supreme. That little "cup" that the wicks have to be in drives me nuts in terms of trimming. The big problem is that the difference between stellar performance and so-so performance is so small. And it does make a tremendous difference.

The last time I built the Supreme it was really a great vape, except that it was spitting and popping like mad. The spitting was so bad that it "hurt". I ended up adding little, tiny, tufts of rayon to the little cups below the wick tails to cure it. It was, literally, feeding too fast and needed to be slowed down. The first time I added I over did it and choked the feed, so back to the drawing board and removed a little at a time. Took e four attempts to get it just right. Now, nirvana!

An RDA/RSA, wicking is a lot less important! If you get the coil size & position just rite it will produce excellent flavour :) RTA needs that, Plus the wicking has to be just rite. It can make a world of difference & a minor adjustment can be the difference between so so & really good.

RDA/RSA you saturate the wick by dripping or squonking, RTA has to do it on it's own!
The wicking must be not too tight or loose, for the perfect stream of juice to the coil :)

After all that & your RTA is Perfect! It only lasts for the life of your wick :( Then you start over again!

IMO an RTA can produce flavour as well as a RDA/RSA! It's just not as easy to achieve :)

We all get that one build that works so amazing, you hate to have to rewick it after cruddy coils. You just know that the next rewick won't be as awesome.

With RTAs yes, with RDAs 95% of the time I get the same vape after rewicking. If not the same so close I don't even bother re-rewicking. I know, I know, lots of folks enjoy their RTAs, I just don't care for all the fiddling. I'm a wick-n-go kinda guy, and only having to rewick after at least 300+ mils with an RDA is sweet. I think my record for wick life on an RTA was around 80 mils.

To date I haven't found an RTA that compares with my RDAs for flavor AND vapor consistency and the RTAs that hold 8+ mils are gigantic. I'm still looking though. Wish me luck!

IDK, that was some intense and amazing flavor I discovered, I found myself dripping down through the tube of the Merlin that night astonished at how great the flavor was, I wanted to keep it going. It was all fun and games until I felt juice running down my wrist, turn the light on and found the atty, mod and myself were a mess, dripping my the light of the TV isn't the smartest I guess.... I hate to say it publicly, but the thought of trying squonking has been running through my mind....

I've tried dripping and squonking. Neither float my boat. Dripping takes having a bottle of liquid, with some kind of small spout, handy all the time. Squonking takes filling the bottle, one way or another, and can get messy depending on the mod.

Yeah, RTAs need some time with the wicks, but once you get the hang of each one it's pretty easy. The convenience of a quick refill, yeah longer than squeezing a squonk bottle but less time than fooling with a squonk bottle, and you're good to go again.

I routinely get 100-300ml out of a build, depending on the sugar content of the liquid, and never bother with dry burns. Rebuild are just as easy and the only thing saved is a few inches of wire for a new coil.

ok, I'm in, C-roll on the way, I kinda forgot about it and there is a bit of a dry spell
You must not have received it yet as I didn't see you post about it. I'm looking forward to hear your thoughts on it.
I was going to buy a 2nd one from Eciggity last week when they were running their LOVE20, 20% off code, but couldn't figure out how to get my reward points working. They are like $35 and $3 shipping there at regular price.

RDAs are exactly like RTAs, not all of them excell at what they are supposed to do. ;)

Hey Willy, If you have a DNA75 board? & don't mind a "Fixer Upper" Shoot Me a PM :)

Let me sleep on it, that flavor I experienced was amazing. But now I'm confused and conflicted, I feel as if I'm being pulled in a direction...

Come to the squonk side, we have cookies. ;)

Oooo... cookies! Brings back memories of first grade at snack time when we could pick one, do I take the ginger snap which I like better or the larger cinnamon sugar coated graham cracker....

Yes I actually remember back that far and yes that is a real memory.

I never thought about 17track with any seriousness. Although I have been playing with it the last couple of weeks and it ain't bad. Updates seems to be about 3 hours behind current.

Wow, I love that place. I buy most of my drippers, tanks, coils, and DNA mods there. ;)

I ordered the Orange, like it a lot but "for me" it's not an ADV, it is a good secondary flavor to keep from getting vapor's tongue.
I got it last Saturday and I was afraid of vaping because I might have allergies towards it. But I'll sneak a vape everyday or two. And BD's Orange reminds me a lot like VapeJoose Orange Dream. Both are quite good. I also love a good coffee vape (man are those hard to find, most taste like crap) and I also got their Coffee Cake one. ;)

Funny, I've been squonking for about a year and now I am moving away from them. As with TC, it is sometimes hard to tell how much juice is in the juice well. So I am always popping off the cap on RDAs anyway. So I started dripping again. Although I have and still use tanks too when convenience is more important. And the flavor doesn't suffer with my tanks anyway. ;)
