Sitting down, facing forward.
Semi short story, Steamer.

Reports started surfacing regarding people with lung problems from vaping, therefor vaping is to blame and the MSM kept, and keeps, harping on the vaping component. Turns out that it is limited to "young" people who have vaped THC oil. Anyone with a grain of common sense realizes that vaping oil is not a good thing to do. Most, if not all, of the cases involve lipoid pneumonia, the lungs getting loaded with an oil which lungs are not designed to handle. It is unfortunate that this has happened, but it is kind of a perfect storm, the legalization of medicinal or recreational wacky weed and vaping coming together in the wrong form. Like Classy says, I use this THC oil on my back so I'll vape it and get my high from it too. After all, what could go wrong? Now, as a result, the demands by do-gooder politicians are demanding something be done about this crisis. Unfortunately, they don't understand what the root cause is and haven't got a clue what to do about it that might actually fix it. A cure for stupidity and ignorance can't be legislated or fixed with a government rule. (I can't believe the editing ECF is doing, they're about as helpful as the people demanding something be done)

Thanks awsum140 You can't fix stupid! Naturally any chance to vilify Vaping is fully exploited :(
As much as we don't want to hear it, I'v been seeing tons of young kids (17to20) vaping high nic content, 50mg! As much as I want to defend vaping for helping so many people get off cigarette, These youngsters using nicotine isn't Good! :(

Could use some advice on how to go about setting my buddy up for his first vaping experience, I don't want to turn him off to it right out of the gate. Should I buy some tootle puffer gear or give him something tanks? I have those three HotCig DX's with three spare battery packs that I put all new battery's in, I don't use them anymore, I thought those would be good to give him depth in gear. I told him he would need to have redundancy in gear and supplies to make sure he is never without the ability to vape because that can put you right back to picking up a pack of cigs. I have a couple of the UD Zephyrus tanks I don't use anymore, he could buy coil heads for those to get started then work his way to something like the mizers and build his own coils? Too much too soon? I want to give him the best chance of success. I just don't have any tootle puffer gear I started out with left, I gave some away and tossed the rest.

Willie, I started off with an joyetech ego AIO. I needed simple & low maintenance or I’d still be smoking cigars. If I had to sit & rebuild early on I would have gotten frustrated. The AIO was perfect for me while I learned about what was out there & how to use it. Getting on this forum & reading threads on safety & all the options gave me the confidence to start building & I switch to squonking within a few months. Even there I started with the Kanger dripbox because of the simplicity of building on it, really all I had to do is stuff cotton in the coils. Once I got used to that I moved on to wrapping my own & bought some bottom feed RDAs & better mods. But if it wasn’t simple & give me satisfying hits early on I would not have stuck with it.
Honestly, I started by mistake. I dropped my daughter off an hour & a half from home to visit her Mom, & realized I forgot to bring a cigar. Rather than buy a crap cigar from the gas station I stopped at a vape shop & picked up the AIO & some juice. The guy there was very helpful. Well, I haven’t touched a cigar since.

Thank you for your feedback, I'm thinking your right. My thought was my buddy is a life long tinkerer like me and he could easily grasp wrapping coils then it came back to me how much even I hated coil building at first. My thought with the Zephyrus tanks is you can buy coil heads for them in TC or kan and they are great coils, in fact those last longer than any build I can make, it's just cheaper for me to build my own. The more I thought about it tonight the more I think I'd be better off taking my buddy for a ride to the vape shop I use to buy from, the shop is a half hour ride away but the guys there will let you try different gear and juice and they are very, very good at fitting everyone from a beginner to the advance user. If I can get him to go with me, get to know a couple of the guys there, he'd be more comfortable going back to them and keep on vaping. They have a little lounge area where you can sit, have a cup of joe, vape, read a vape mag, surf the web or chat. When the guys behind the counter aren't busy they'll come and join you and shoot the breeze, even with the old farts like me, if they were closer I'd stop in more often.

Willie, I agree with the idea of setting him up with come pre-built stuff to start with. The biggest problem I've experienced trying to convert, or help people convert, to vaping is that they all want "clouds bro" and that doesn't normally happen with pre-made stuff and newbie vapers. I've been building for so long I have no idea, at all, what the best choices are in pre-built. Getting him to that vape shop and matching him to a device and atomizer set up will be the key. Starting him out with TC is probably a good idea, as well, and will help him stay in safe temperature ranges. If he's a tinkerer he'll get around to building coils soon enough, the key is making it easy at the start.

Nic salts has been the key to my success in the last year converting cig smokers. It most closely emulates the buzz from cigs. I agree with others who have said simple is better, a good introduction to a reputable vape shop and would like to add, absolutely NO gunky juices to the equation. Nothing will turn off a new vaper faster than a nasty burny taste and having to replace coils every few days.

My thoughts are that the (what ever alphabet agency) needs to do (and fast) is to publicize for protection/safety the difference between vaping nicotine to replace smoking and vaping other stuff for medicinal/recreational. AND that the other stuff for medicinal just because it has 3 letters doesn't mean it's vapeable.

I can now hold my breath longer now than several years ago, thanks to vaping. However, I cannot hold it long enough to wait for this to happen.

ROFL...you aren't that much older than me

As I look at Mrs CMD, it daily becomes more obvious to me that women age better, in almost all ways, than do men. Her mind, as we age, will be plugging away when mine has dimmed.

I agree, a Uwell Caliburn with some Nic Salt juice is a great starter kit. I sell quite a few each shift with a recommendation of 20mg or 35mg for PAD smokers.
