I found a Microsoft Office 2010 disc in the recycling tonight and installed it on my laptop.
Then went to Windows Update and checked for updates, this is where I started thinking about Bill. There must have been around 50 updates listed, got all of 'em....took 20 minutes or so.

Anybody making dna mods anymore? I looked for some more Triades and I can't find any on the shelves. Looked for Paranormals and they're in short supply. Checked lost vape site and all they are manufacturing are pods now. Looked for hcigar DNAs and all I found were some VT75 Inbox mods. Maybe since the FDA has banned flavors for pod systems, maybe big mods will start picking up again.

Seems like DNA mods are old news now! Evolv's not helping either, we haven't seen any thing new from them in years now! Except the pod mod boards :(

The Odin is the only new DNA mod I'v seen in a long time! It only appeals to a small market :(

The demand must Not be there?

John (the mad scientist behind DNA) has stressed great interest in pod systems and the evolution of Replay. Interpret that as you wish.

Lost Vape produces in small batches. Not custom high end mod type small batches but certainly much smaller than say Smok or Geekvape. I also suspect, but not 100% certain, they use OEM’s to produce their products outside the DNA circuits and they just assemble and package.

The last 250C Triade batch was X-Mass of 2018. The last Paranormal batch was just recently – do not know how many have been made. Both products have had some time in the retail market, interest in them will be a lot lower now then when they were first released.

I know the first batch of Paranormals, they only made 1000. And they sold out in like 90 days. Months later, a second batch came out around May 2019 I think. I never heard how many of the second batch they made. Nor have I heard anything about later batches. They must have had at least two batches of Triades too. As months later, more colors became available. I also heard Lost Vape doesn't have their own factory, but rents one whenever they make a batch.

Picking up some boards and mod kits is often a less expensive way to go if you don't mind the tinkering, I enjoy it. Heck, there's always the crude "raw hammond box" route, they may not be as pretty but they just work and they are rugged.

Sounds about right. Think there was only two 250C Triade batches with the second introducing the all silver version. Believe the Paranormal is on it’s 3rd batch, and I suspect, although not certain, this may have been due to public demand through various social media.

In the Drone thread, someone did post a communication from Lost Vape that stated that one reasons of the Drone delay was due to them putting forth their efforts toward the Orion.

As for renting a factory…guess that is possible. There is a lot of similarities between Think Vape and Lost Vape. The Triade and Finder are identical apart from a few aesthetic ques (I call the Finder the ugly brother). And Think Vape came out with a non DNA mod that was identical to the Paranormal or Therion. Can’t remember the name of it. Not saying Think Vape is making Lost Vape products, or vice versa, but both are certainly taking advantage of someone’s factory. Using OEM is quite common in China. Even Smok is an OEM for other brands.

No mention of the Paranormal on the Lost Vape site, but they do have a new Prana pod.

It seems the DIY scene has died a slow death also :( We used to have a nice modders forum were people posted pictures of their home made creations. We don't see that as much any more :( The mass's want inexpensive pod mods & the manufactures cater to the market! People don't care about fancy mods or even rebuilding, they just want a pod cartage to use & dispose of :( The juul probably out sells traditional mods & tanks 100 to 1 !

Is it thou? We have seen some real good deals lately with the Hana & the $10 DNA75's, but if you paying full price for a DNA chip, buying parts & assembling a mod your self the savings is negligible. It is a fun hobby thou :)

The heyday of big box mods has sadly come and gone. :(

Yes it sure has! Vaping has become just a Nic delivery system now & the easier the better! Most people don't have the time or the will to learn E-Scribe or even twist up a coil! They just want to hit that .... & go!

That's true, there has been some smoking deals but they are not that often. I wouldn't pay retail for a board, there are ways around that, just need to keep your eyes & ears open and buy as many as you can afford when a deal comes along. ;)

I still get a kick out of taking an old mod and reto fitting a DNA board into it. I still have some of those new old stock ZNA mods waiting for DNA 60 boards. And I've got one more of the Hana V4 mods I got from the zbbmods ebay guy, that has turned into one of my favorite tiny mods, vaping on it now. I need to grab a few more 60's should the opportunity come along again. :) Unfortunately last time I was at my monthly "toy" spending limit and we got hit with some unexpected bills not long before. I know how far I can push things and stay put of an ear bending, Mama keeps a close eye on the checking account, which actually is probably a good thing LoL.

Couple pics of those V4 hana mods from the web, wish I had bought more of them. :(
(BTW, Anyone have use for some NOS 40 boards?)

I dunno... I'm not up on all things non-DNA, but GeekVape seems to be doing well with all of the versions of the Aegis they have going on. Five models in total I believe. Just about any size battery or batteries, they probably have a model for. Even if you want a lipo one, they have one of those too.

After trying my first DNA mod, it's sad to see the lack of options available for mods with this board in it. I hope to get another mod withe the color chip, if y'all see a good deal on a mod like this that's not high end (budget concerns) please let me know. After you buy 3 for yourself first, of course :p

Well the deals pop up from time to time. One I found out about after the sale was over and that was the Lost Vape Drone 250C for 40 bucks. And just because it is a squonker mod, you don't have to squonk with them. As you can use 99% of squonkers as a regular mod too. ;)

Call me a relic........

Still vaping on ECF #001 today, and every day.

The DNA200 board is just starting to show signs of Alzheimer's though, might throw a 250 in there soon.

As Mike alluded to, we have settled into our niche's newer vapers never needed to DIY like we did back in the day to get a good vape. I still mainly use my 3D printed 20700 mods based on Pdib's awesome design so I don't really think people want to see me posting them over and over. I have made several plastic iterations till it is basically bullet proof and thanks to the originator the electrical parts work well with low voltage drop and are low maintenance. I have all the raw materials to make them for myself for a long time, but haven't had to for quite awhile now.

Here is an interesting derivative I printed but haven't finished.

My first DNA mod had a DNA200 in it. And I have more mods with a DNA200 board in them than any other board. And there were a lot of manufactures that were putting DNA200 boards into their mods back then. Ah... lots of good memories. ;)

I got a Lost Vape Drone 250c for $46. That is my first DNA mod.
