Now that I only use my computer for my purposes, Linux may well be on the way - fully. I will be the latest of the latest 'updaters'. If it works well, fine. If it means more MS over me and mine - I'm out.
I have a version of MX Linux on a SSD that I can boot into when needed. I play too many games, so Windows has to stay around on my system otherwise I would run Linux fulltime.

I have a couple of Windows programs that I would hate to lose. I have considered using a virtual windows or just saying, "Hate to lose you but life moves forward, so will I".

Never happens here, our machines run 24/7. The worst thing might be having to sign into my account.

It doesn't happen on machines running 24/7, because it does the updating in the middle of the night. But if you leave open files overnight, it will trash them when it automatically reboots. I lost a few thanks to the clowns at Microsoft. :(

All these machines would run Linux without any problems. Today's Linux distributions are not that difficult to use. The problem comes when you want to keep some programs that only run on Widows and that don't have an adequate Linux alternative. MS Office programs have LibreOffice at no cost, very compatible. LibreOffice Calc and Writer handle spreadsheets and documents created in Excel and Word quite well. But..., important to some - there is no Outlook. I use Thunderbird for mail and calendaring. I use WordPerfect for documents, there is no Linux substitute. I have a blood sugar program which is a Windows only program without an adequate Linux replacement. Virtual box? I will give it a try.
I'll find a way or adapt but I just really don't want to. It will be difficult and frustrating. I don't care for any entity having that much control over any aspect of my life.

I checked all four Windows 10 machines and three are Windows 11 ready. The fourth, apparently Windows 11 is too good to be seen around with a Pentium 4415U.

I would mark as 'funny' for the way you stated it but, in application, it is infuriating.

Anybody else have a digital scale that can read under 1 gram? I noticed some mods (not all) if you hold them right off the scale, will read negative grams (>1g). Lift it away and it will read back to all zeros again. I checked to see if the scale is magnetic and it is, but it is pretty weak. Anybody else see this?

If I got your question right, AWS LB-501 will read negative. TAR it out say at 100 grams weight so it reads zero, then remove the weight, it will read a negative 100 grams.

My son and I were discussing the Windows 11 issues. Seems that MS released some more information. Any hardware from 2017 and/or Generation 8 CPU or later should be able to install Windows 11 in dealing with the required minimum for installation of Secure Boot and/or TPM.

Kind of, but no. These are no name scales I got at LNW. You need to calibrate them at 500g when you get them. Once calibrated and you turn them on they will read zero. Now you can weigh something. Getting a juice bottle as close as you can without touching and it stays at zero. Although grab some mods (only some mods will do it) and do the same, it will start increasing negatively the closer you get. The highest I got it to go once is -0.91g still without touching.

Tried:
  • Stainless Steel 20oz drinking cup - Nada
  • Odin DNA250C - Does it
  • Evolv ERM - Does it
  • Lost Vape Drone DNA250C - Does it
  • Geek Vape Aegis X - Nada
  • SXK BB DNA60 - Does it
  • iPhone - Nada
  • Convoy C8 Flashlight - Nada
  • Dovpo Abyss - Nada
I just checked if any of these things are magnetic and none of them are. Hey we have a pattern! Only mods with a DNA does it.

I just tried with mine, and I could not get it to go negative. It only activated a reading once something touched. Squeeze2, Mirage (DNA), empty bottle and full bottle.
I'm going out on a limb, but I'm guessing it's due to the magnets holding the covers on. Number of, strength of, something. Being your scale is magnetic thats the only thing that makes sense. To test, take one of your mods with the battery cover off and do your test with the cover. Then test with the mod without the cover on.

Mystery solved! That is what it is. I use magnetic USB plugs on my DNA mods and they have a very strong magnetic. Remove them and scale operates normally. Thanks.
