There was a Mexican restaurant in Chicago that I can't remember the name of. I have no idea what they had on the menu, except someone told me about these steak and cheese burritos they had. So I went there and bought one and I fell in love with them. They used real steak strips marinated in something I have no idea of overnight and then grilled the steak when ordered. They tossed in some shredded mozzarella on top and tossed it in a huge burrito. They were not greasy, nor dry. I never ate there, just for take out.
It seemed like every other week the health department shut them down for a few days. Knowing what the corruption was like in Chicago, I never knew if they had any serious violations or if they refused to pay for the protection money. Anyway I for one will miss them. I've never been able to duplicate that same steak and cheese burrito in my kitchen. The secret was in that special marinated sauce.
UPDATE: I did try roast beef au jus and cheese in a burrito at home. That was also good, but nothing as good as that restaurant.
