I finally got around to changing the power cord on my desktop. I replaced the 13 amp (16 gauge wire) cord with a 15 amp cord (14 gauge wire). The power supply can output 1200 watts but with my system, i7 12700K and GTX 1660, at 100% only draws 262 watts from the power supply (284 in/262 out, 92% efficient). This would change drastically with the addition of a high end graphics card but the one I have is more than enough for my needs.
The above figures are with the cpu running full tilt, if the graphics card was also running at 100% the draw would be around 330 watts.
The snip is from a different run, slightly higher figures.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Are you running F@H dw? Why the 100% CPU utilization? I run F@H and Blue Iris on my i7-6700K and the CPU sits around 50-60% depending on the amount of motion that Blue Iris is processing. Actually the olde i7-6700K machine bit the bullet on Friday evening, apparently the mobo has crapped out after about 7 years of 24/7/365, Asus ROG Maximus VIII. I'll be rebuilding it to an i7-12700K when the parts get her tomorrow. I have a 850 watt supply in the machine and with the two NVidia cards total power is around 500 watts for a round number.

That was running Cinebench r23 with the XMP memory profile enabled. It syncs all cores and ups the memory to 3600 mHz (DDR4).
I'm using a Noctua NH-D215, one of the best air coolers available. It is near it's limit, water cooling would be needed to do any more overclocking.
My purpose here is to see that the 185+ watts from the CPU is going to be handled by the cooler if ever it does for some reason run at 100%. Throttling takes place at 100C and the way it is it runs into the low 90"s.

I was tasked last night to determine why the near new gas grille where I work will barely (and I mean barely) cook anything.
So I go fire it up and the flames will only burn all the way around with the lowest setting on valve. If you turn it higher the flames only burn 1/4 of the burner or go out altogether. The fellow that asked me to look into this is thinking that there's a problem with gas line not able to provide enough flow.
But when you turn the knob for more heat you can hear the increased flow, you can hear it quite well.
My conclusion is this grille is currently jetted for propane and it's hooked up to natural gas. Any thoughts?

Yeah, be careful gas is explosive!

Just last month, a neighbor had relit his propane furnace which blew out during the night. I'm 7 miles away and the explosion was still very loud while my house shook. Two people in the house were still alive but had massive burns. Just horrible! :(

I was working in Columbia MO when Centralia went up in flames. Columbia and other area fire trucks were sent there. I heard firsthand accounts of 6 foot long pilot lights from responders that lived in my apartment complex.

"CENTRALIA, Mo. -- A cut pipeline and a mechanical malfunction sent natural gas surging into stove and furnace pilot lights at 120 times the normal rate Thursday, creating a blowtorch effect that started fires in at least 50 homes."

My other desktop has an i7 700K, while it performs well it is hardly even comparable to the performance of the i7 12700K. It is also running the XMP memory profile.

My i7 7700K's memory is running at 3000mHz so results would be slightly better.

My iPhone basically sits on 24/7. I only use it for emergencies, so it rarely sees any use. And everyday it needs 30 minutes of charging (about 500mAh worth) a day.

But like once per month, instead of waking up to 90% charged, it is 10% or lower. Which now requires 90 minutes or more worth of charging. I have no idea what in the blazes it was using power for all night. Any ideas?

UPDATE: Battery Health shows a few applications running only a few minutes total for the last 10 days. It does show the huge battery drain last night, but gives no reason for it.
