My latest tasks are a bit different. I haven't purchased a new Android phone in 7 years. So I thought it is about time to purchase one. My must have list includes:
- Headphone jack
- microSD slot
- removable battery
- and not a must have, but having an IP67 rating or better would be nice and/or a FM radio
7 years ago and earlier, this would be easy to find a bunch of phones that checks all of these boxes. Today, you're lucky to find a phone that just checks one box. And after days of searching, I've found nothing in the consumer phones that checks two or more or boxes. Although in the business phones, I found one that checks all of the boxes except for the FM radio part. It is a Galaxy XCover6 Pro 128GB. It is pretty pricey for its specs at $600, but so are most business class phones. And like the Ford Model T, it only comes in black.

Is this the future? My whole must have list will become a dream of the past?
