yup ;) but no further forwarding was done. but it only happened on my news sites. :?:
i'll reconnect to at&t later on and see if it still persists. if i remember right that hot spot is set to static, not automatic ip addresses. too much to do though to check it out now.
This is gonna sound silly but turn all computers off for 1 min then turn them back on. This is the easiest solution.

When you switch internet sources, computers keep a routing table and it doesn't flush unless its rebooted but some have time limits (which is why you turn it off for 1 min). Sometimes, it's on your router so rebooting your router might help too.

192.168.0.1 is an internally routable class c address. (192.168.0.1 to 192.168.255.255) These addresses (there's class a and b ranges too) don't route on the internet.

I could explain in more detail if you want

lol! only one in the house ;) but i do leave my laptop on overnight and while i have rebooted it hasn't been shut off. i shall do that now before taking a nap! :D
i might have tried one too many hot spots - i have been testing sprint, at&t, us cellular and verizon. the sprint router was sent back today since i was lucky to get one bar lit under signal strength.

You may have to reboot any other wireless device that get's wifi access through your router, any of them is set a internal ip address. We have a "smart" dvd player that connects, it has apps for internet access for youtube, netfilx and such. I don't like it because I'm not sure I should trust it, when connected it shows about five or six other ip's connected, I "assume" it's the apps that are in the player. First time I saw all these devices connected I thought I had neighbors who somehow hacked my 32 digit password, got into my router and were using my network, took me a while to figure out what was going on. Here's a screen shot showing these connections through the player, 192.168.1.2 is the player, all those under it are through the player. Note that it says "wireless intruders also show up here", when I first saw it that's when I went,

10.x.x.x, 172.16.x.x - 172.31.x.x and 192.168.x.x are internally routed addresses that are not used on the internet (outside world). I think they added another class C range (20x.x.x.x?) but can't find anything on it now. They are reserved for internal network routing (like your home or a company). If they get routed outside a private network, the packets just get dropped or ignored.

Any device on your network (laptop, tablet, dvd/bluray player, tv, printer, etc) needs an IP address. Most of these devices get the IP address from the router via DHCP and it can change. You can also set up your home with static IP addresses and these will never change but you have to manually configure each device.

This is the simplest diagram I could find. Each port is assigned an IP address and can forward IP packets.

Dry and windy
I've been in and out, mostly out,,, in the garage playing with my new (new to me) toys.:)
And let me tell ya,,, it's pretty dang cold and dark out there!
I do lurk in here in the mornings and sometimes the evenings and remembered a post by @SlickWilly:
During the holiday sales the last couple weeks I snagged four LED shop lights at a great price, I had eight of the old florescent double bulb shop lights that don't want to come on in the cold, flicker, always need tinkering and have never given out good light. Replacing just four of them with these LED's really made a HUGE difference, almost too bright! And they come on instantly no matter how cold it is! I got the last two ACE hardware had for had for $25 each, then a week later I found two more at True Value for $29 each, same exact light. Nice lights, nice features, look well made, clean white (like sunlight) light, just hope they last. I'll keep an eye out, I'm sure they'll be on sale again at some point. Metalux LED Shop Light, 43-In.: Model# 4SHPLD3240R | True Value

Found these at Costco. At the price listed they are $20 each light.

Costco Wholesale

That is 2 shop lights,,, 2 "bulbs" in each one. They are BRIGHT. Tax and shipping came to a total of $49.92

Doing some 2nd amendment things with the mill right now so staying pretty busy. :)
Mizers on DNA's keeping me company out there! :)

Oh you son of a gun! (pun intended) That's exactly what I'd do with a mill. I took a couple years of machine shop, Dad was a tool and die maker, I ended up following a different path and passion, cars. Still I've always wanted a mill, lathe and surface grinder at home, but being an ex-auto tech all my tool money has always gone for auto repair tools.

Okay fellas I hate to be a bearer of bad news but there is a new favorite RTA that I think you all might be interested in. The envelop please?... Wotofo new Serpent Mini 25mm. Dual post deck included. Larger 4mil tank top fill. Don't be a hater if you shelve the Aromamizer for this one. Air flow and flavor are top notch. Got mine from Fasttech 20.59. Don't shoot the mesenger.

Same style drip a bit larger in diameter bigger outer diameter apears smaller hole more to provide better insulation from getting hot. Great air flow. I love my Serpent Mini too use it on my Istick Pico exclusively. Stealth Vaping.
