I cut some of my juice with VG and also mix some flavors but not really DIY. I usually buy 30ml of a flavor to try out and 120+ml if I like it. The deal for 120ml bottles is about what I usually pay for a 30ml so I thought it was a good deal. Now that I've tried it, I'll order some more to stock up.

Can I ask why? With out DIY, my vape budget would have to be more than twice what it is :(
At first for a little while I bought store bought juice, it isn't any better than stuff you can DIY IMO :)

I started cutting juice when I first started vaping. I ordered 18mg juices and it was way too harsh for me. Someone told me I could cut it with VG so I ordered a liter to try out and now I just buy a gallon at a time. Now I order 6-12mg and cut it in half or a little less because it doesn't gunk my coils as much and the flavor isn't overpowering (to me). I looked into DIY but it seemed too much work for me and what I was doing was easier. I bought a bunch of 50ml and 120ml bottles to use daily and I have some unicorn (30ml and 50ml) for traveling.

Same thing here KTM but I cut it more, double amount VG to a bottle of juice. I also adjust with 100mg nic to bring it to 18mg. I wait until there is a sale on the juice I like then I buy enough to last me 2-3 months (6-8 15ml bottles). After I cut it I have a good stock until the next sale comes along and I don't care if it's zero or 24mg because I'll adjust it when I cut it. I take what ever mg they have, sometimes it sells quick during a sale and all I see is zero, very low or max mg. I just bought a bunch on sale last week, after I cut it it cost me $3.55 for 15ml (factoring in the VG and nic).

Last fall my local shop was going to stop selling the other juice I like, they sold me a big box of juice for $25, retail was $240. I'll have enough of that for a couple years, that's some cheap vaping after cutting!

I forgot to add, (damn pain meds screw with me...) I DO want to DIY at some point and vape just my own juice. I dabbled a little a year and a half ago and didn't have much success so it got set on the back burner. I know I'll have to pay my dues while I learn and there will be some not-so-good to bad batches before I get the hang of it, it's just not something I'm looking forward too. That and I like complex juice with depths of flavors, not a fan of one flavor juice.

Actually, I find blends almost always easier to achieve something acceptable. I think it is because it hard to "nail" a single flavor like peach for instance. Since you "know" exactly what peach "should" taste like you have certain expectations, and they can be hard to match.

However, with a blend, you really dont have an intimate knowledge of "exactly" what strawberry/peach/mango should taste like. Therefor your expectations are a lot more broad, and you dont "have" to "nail" it.

IMHO blends are consequently a lot easier to achieve an acceptable result.....

Hmm... that's good advice and a new view on how to try again. What I did before was try to get the right mix of single flavors in hopes of then mixing those to achieve a "blend". I had a couple flavors that were getting close to acceptable, but many more that just didn't taste right so I'd add a little more, steep and taste & repeat. Seemed like I'd be getting better then all the sudden it was too much so I'd have to start over. After a while, frustrated I set it aside thinking giving it a break for a while would be best, but I never went back to trying again.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Willie, maybe invest in a UC cleaner to cut steeping times. I DIY from scratch and have found I can duplicate a weeks worth of steeping with an hour in the UC cleaner. That is the problem with DIY, the time it takes to develop a mix of single flavors that you like. It took me six months of "YUCK!!!!" to find what I like. Even now, after two years, I keep experimenting with new flavors and "doctoring" them up with little additions.

I do have a UC with a heater and that's how I did a speed steep for taste testing, but I would also let them set for a few weeks tasting every week and making notes. Part of the problem is without experience I didn't know if I should add a little more flavor, maybe a sweetener or a little water?? Then I'd try a touch more and bam it's gone off the cliff. Rather then try to fix it with a little VG, I'd just dump it, I was afraid trying to fix it would just confuse me more if I happen to make it good then not be able to duplicate it.

I like Mike's idea of going right for some blends, maybe two or three flavors and if I get a good combo I could try adding one other flavor in a few different samples and see what's better and what's not. One thing I knew would be important is careful measuring and detailed notes, otherwise being able to repeat would be rolling the dice and hope your lucky, which I am not LoL. I need to do some more reading and add to my flavor collection before I jump back in, won't be until the snow falls and I'm looking for something to do. When it's nice out I just have too many other things going on. Love summer time!! And it's too short..... :(

Bout time to head out to the shop, in the summer when it's hot like today (low 90's) I like to wait until 8-9 PM before working in the shop. I'll open both the overhead doors, turn the fan and stereo on and just tinker while enjoying the cool evening. Last night I was enjoying myself so much, before I knew it, it was almost 1 AM. :)

BTW, right now I am vaping a "Cherry Limeade" and it is hitting the spot!

However, I have yet to concoct a decent "straight" cherry. Tried a dozen or more, and combinations of them, havent nailed that one yet. NicQuid nailed it though, but I cant bring myself to pay store bought ejuice prices when I know how cheap it is to make.

I just posted in the co-op planning thread about Fuggin's Raspy Lemonade. I also got some Desert Rain from MBV and that's surprisingly good too. Fuggin's Berry Crunchy (Crunchberry) is different but not bad. I've been ordering 2 - 120ml bottles of Dr Juice Crunchberry every time they have a sale (Sun and Mon this time) but it's still pretty expensive for juice, $60 retail price. Code: MEMORIAL gives you 25% off. $45 is still pretty expensive for 120ml but it's the best Crunchberry flavor I've tried out of maybe 5 or 6 different brands.

My reasoning is that after buying all the mods and atomizers I have now, juice is the main expense and still overall cheaper than when I was smoking cigarettes. When I first started vaping, I set my budget to what I was spending on cigarettes ($250 - $300 per month). Averaging out my total costs over the past 2 yrs of vaping, I'm well under $200/mo and I feel so much better overall after quitting cigarettes.
