Don't feel too bad. Yesterday I cleaned up the whole yard, all the leaves mulched and piled in the mulch pen. Got up this morning to drifts of leaves from the wind over night. Looks like it did before I started yesterday, GROAN!!!
I hate it when that happens!

Thats why I wait another month before dealing with leaves. I keep the sidewalk and driveway clear, the rest can wait until the trees are naked.

Sitting down, facing forward.
If I wait until the trees are bare nekked the mower has a really hard time picking them all up, the deck makes more like a snow plow with the heaps we get. Yesterday I got about 24 bushels of mulched leaves, and grass, to process through the shredder. That was supposed to happen today, but I ended up doing other little odd jobs instead. Ithas to happen tomorrow though.

Well I beat the snow by one day, yesterday I finished all my outside work, only thing left is a little caulking to seal some small drafts and I'll get that done the next day it gets above 40 deg F, sometime next week. The last six weeks took a toll on my tired worn and abused body, it was a big push to get everything done but now I can sit inside, look out with the satisfaction everything is set for winter. Now it's snuggle up and rest time.... Finally! :)

Yeah the leaf's, I get the majority of them then I don't worry about any left on the ground. We have some old sugar maples that don't drop all their leafs until after the snow comes, I'll get them next spring.

It's that time of year again, the open skin crack's on my thumbs is back. Don't understand why this doesn't happen during warm weather, only the cold but it's plagued me for many years and I've never found anything that prevents or cures it, only way's to minimize it. The only thing that works for me is super glue, clean and dry the crack, a drop of super glue and pinch the crack close for 30 seconds. This will keep it closed for a day or two and it keeps it from hurting.
