I had a DNA75 failure today :( I took a hit & put it down, for reasons unknown it got Hot! Really hot!
One of the big square pieces & most of the chips on the board came rite off! I managed to get the battery out in time to save it, it got hot but still works fine :)
There is an awful stink of burnt chip in my room that just isn't going away :(

The good news is I have 2 spare 75's just for this kind of thing :) I managed to get the mod apart & all cleaned up. Should have it back up & running by tomorrow :)

This is the first dna failure in a very long time, I'm not a fan of the 75 & will most likely never build another 75 mod, So I'm not even going to RMA it!

My Therion dna75 failed in exactly the same way.

dwcraig1 is correct! no fuse :( Im fairly certain if I hadn't noticed, it would have caught fire or vented the battery :(
Have a look at what happened to the chip!

EVen if you dont want the RMA, I would still report it to Evolv, its a pretty serious safety concen.

So how do you suggest I report it? What good is just the report? Do they even investigate the defective chips, do any thing more than throwing them in the trash?
I guess as a courtesy I could make a post on their board, showing & explaining what happened.

Even if you don't want to build another 75 an RMA is still a viable option.

I reported it to someone there. Do I have your permission to give them your email if they want more info?

Here's my reasoning, From Canada it would cost me 16$ to mail the Chip back.
I have a Ton! of DNA chips, from witch the 75 is the one I like the least!
I would much rather invest my 16$ into another DNA than spend it on postage to get a chip I dont like & will probably never use.

No problem Mike :) I made a post on their board, I wouldn't mind sending it in for a DNA60 in exchange.
But for a straight replacement of the 75 I will Not RMA it

I am just hoping they go "oh crap" when they see the photos, and show interest in how it may have happened.

Well, lets hope? If not detected right away it could have caused a bigger problem!
The big steal piece on the back that fell off was so hot it melted parts of the box!

Sitting down, facing forward.
Hey Streamer, I haven't "liked" any of those posts about the DNA75 'cause that ain't a very "likeable" thing to say the least. At least they're aware of it now and may help you out with it. I sure hope they do. I like the DNA75 as well as the 200 and 250. The 75 fits my style of vaping.

Everyone has their own preference :)
I like the 200/250 & the 60 a lot, Even the 75c is Ok :) But for me the 75 is the proverbial "Red Headed Step Child" of the Evov line :)

It's been said over & over here in our thread, But needs to be said again Evolv has the Best Customer Service I have ever seen!
They Emailed me back all ready, expressed concern over the Chip failure. Even If they didn't make the best chips, their level of Service would be enough to make me a loyal customer. The good news is they Do Make the Best Chips :) Win Win :)
