I'm debating the ModCrate 1550 p vs the alpinetech 1550 dna75 boxes. ModCrate is cheaper but I really dislike the screw holes in the front of the box. Looks very sx350j renegade-ish. I want to go with brass buttons and 510 but neither sell the fat daddy brass 510 and hate paying for shipping twice for one 5 dollar part lol

They added a new torx driver, nice looking tool, it's got a spinner at the top, roll it between your fingers then use the "flag" to tighten. I hope they make then in a allen driver version too.

Looking on fasttech I found these,

$8.54 Vanilla Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 6ml / 303 stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

What I'm seeing is the "clear" style o-rings instead of the normal black ones...
WHAT I'm thinking is, PARTS!

I have already tried the "cheaper" replacement 2post build decks from there and they do fit the OG mizer.
So if you break down the cost of all of the parts involved, that is pretty cheap way to go.
There is NO logo's or inscriptions on these rdta's and that has me thinking that they might be overstock from the NOW discontinued V1 mizer production. I ordered 1 of the SS ones,,, I'll report back later. :pop:

I got refunds on both the cheap ebay kanger boxes. It was too good to be true.
Now I am negotiating with e-cig about the hotcig dna200 box I got with only the battery and not the mod portion. It did come in a nice wooden box with a velvet bag. Just no dna chip, screen, buttons, 510... Luckily, they seem reasonable and their warehouse is local, about 20 miles away.
I still haven't decided what to do with my dna75s. Maybe a squonker. I think it could fit in my Inoy box. I know it would fit in the steam crave. I am in no hurry. I am keeping busy stocking up for the vapocalypse. So far, I have nicotine until 2047.

I have a question for you all... I'll try to make this as short as possible, I plugged in my dna200 (2 cell 133w) Vaporflask to a new usb charging tower using a cable I'd been using on a 1a charger.

Something bad happened, and it wouldn't come back on. Clicking the fire button did nothing. Holding the fire button initialized the board, saw the welcome screens then check atomizer (no atty attached), then the battery screen flashed as empty and 0%.

Plugged it back into a known working charger and I had it set to show each cell voltage and usb amps, so it said 0 amps (no draw from usb) one battery as 0.00v and the other battery as 3.9v or something like that? So I thought maybe one battery discharged? I removed both batteries and charged them externally. Both went to full charge.

Replaced the batteries still wouldn't work. Plugged it back into usb charger, again saw 0 amps, 0.00v and something strange like 5.2v on the other cell (remember these are two 18650 Sony vtc5)

So I took the whole thing apart, checked connections, tried to using different batteries, something has absolutely gone wrong on the board, but I have no idea what. None of the components look any different from a new board...no scorching or anything like that.

It will talk to escribe, though I'm not sure what good that accomplishes of any?

Any ideas? Or has this board simply bit the bullet?

(Oh btw: the usb tower suffered thru this also, its led is now flashing always, and was constant on before. I have not been brave/stupid enough to plug anything else into it to verify it's function one way or the other but the led won't stop blinking on the usb tower)

Sorry for the long winded post.

My guess would be the charger fried the battery charging & monitoring chip and you will need to return the board. It could be coincidence, but I would be very wary of that charging tower and look at the output on a scope if you have access to one. An earth spike through the charger is also a possibility, but hard to confirm.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Hey, Willie. I put "Kroil" to the acid test and it worked like a charm. I had some brass quick connect hose fittings that were stuck on the outside faucets, brass to pot metal, and the corroded to death over a couple of years. I didn't want to replace the hose bibs so I gave the a squirt or two of Kroil over the last week, basically whenever I remembered to anyway. They all came off smooth as silk! That stuff is great! Thanks for the heads up about it!

Happy to hear you tried it, that stuff saves a lot of frustration if you can let it soak in and do it's thing for a couple days on a very corroded part. Wish I knew about it when I was still twisting wrenches, but then again on the line, seldom do you have a day or two to let it set. But for rusted bolts, just letting it set overnight can do wonders. And a little goes a long way, it's not really inexpensive but if you spray just enough to coat a part and not drown it till it's running off a can will last a long time. It has a permanent spot on my bench now! :) Here's a good "google" deal on kroil --> Google Deal

F that usb charging tower! Stupid thing messed up my flask! If it had messed up my erm+ I could have fixed it in 10 minutes.... A few screws, a few solder points, new board, boom... I'm back in business..... The flask has to be rebuilt... Extend the screen, extend the usb, major pain in my... Oh well. Live and learn.

What charging tower do you have?

I've been using a PowerBot PB5000 for over a year and it's been awesome. Anything I have that charges from a microUSB or miniUSB is charged from it (use good cables).
