Got my Roku and HDMI switcher yesterday, this switcher works great, a real bargain. It came with a USB power cable but in my case it's not needed, works great without it.

My new monitor has one HDMI port, with the switcher I can quickly go from the desktop, Ruko or the new Spectrum converter box. When on the cable box, the sound comes into the monitor but I have quadraphonic speakers on the computer, I just ran a patch cable from the headphone jack on the monitor to the input on the computer. I thought it might be a hassle to setup but when I hit the HDMI switcher over to cable, the sounds from the computer shuts off and the TV sound automatically turns on
through the computer speakers.
Yesterday was D-Day for spectrum to flip the switch to full digital TV meaning you had to have a DVR or converter box. To be ready I had picked up the converter boxes on Monday, I took the box my computer TV tuner card came in so they could see I needed one converter box with an RF out and I needed one box with HDMI out, the guy said no problem. When I open them yesterday I found they game me two HDMI with no RF out and they never gave me HDMI cables which the included instructions said they were supposed to come with, I had no extra HDMI cables. It was snowing and the roads were bad, didn't want to drive another 45 min in the snow so I called spectrum, asked if they had a truck in the area that could stop by and bring me the right RF box and cables, they finally showed up and all they had was an HDMI cable, the guy said I'd have to go back to the walk in center.
The day turned into one big cluster *#^$, they keep having both TV signal and internet outages, spectrum trucks were going back and forth here all day so it clearly wasn't going smooth. Later it stopped snowing and the roads cleared up so TWO more trips to the walk in center, six calls total to spectrum, a complete day to try and get two TV's and my computer card working.
Every person at spectrum had something different to tell me both on the phone and walk in center. The last guy I talked to at the walk in center told me,
"Oh, those people on the call lines are idiots" by that time my temper was short, I had my full, I stared at him for a few seconds not believing that came out of his mouth and said,
"huh, well that's the same thing they told me about you guys in these walk in centers" turned and walked out past a long line of customers.
By 5PM I was loosing it, it was the first time in 20 years I wanted a drink and thought about going to the bar down the road. I had to walk away from it all, I took a nap, that's what I use to do when I first quit drinking, sleep through the urges.
Never could get TV through my computer card even with the RF box, NO one at Spectrum had a fix, I can't record my shows on my computer anymore, I'm not happy.
