Just got my Protovapor DIY XPV 75c kit today. Comes with everything you need to build it and an extra set of external screws with Torx and Philips. You just need solder to complete. The screen holder is 3d printed and you need to scrape the waterproof coating off the side of the board to fit (it's that tight) but fits perfectly. I screwed the case together to get a feel of it and it feels great in my hand. Smaller and more comfortable than the Silo cases I've been using. I think this might be my favorite mod now. Great kit for $99 shipped (USPS Priority).

XPV DNA-75C DIY Kit

I got an e-mail notice that my SL class just shipped today. I'm interested to see if the Yihi chipset is better than the last one I had a couple of years ago.

And to make up for lost time...

Sitting down, facing forward.
Nice to see you back, KTM. I consider myself a kludge when it comes to atomizers but I have to tell you I've never had an Aromamizer V1 or V2 leak and I have around ten of them in constant use between my wife and me. So, the obvious question becomes, how are you trimming the wicks?

Just remembered, I did have one that leaked...forgot to put in the bottom "O" ring for the glass tank so that doesn't really count as a leaker since I'm a kludge.

I've tried replacing o-rings and different types of builds/wicking and they all eventually leaked. I realized that the Supreme and Lite are not v2 of the original but a different RDTA so v2 is a redesign of the Supreme/Lite. I have the first one. The Lites seem to leak sooner than the Supreme.

Just built the XPV and it's a very slim and compact mod. Feels great in my hand. It uses the same buttons as the Silo cases but with the screen holder, it's so easy mounting the screen and board.

The OG Supremes do sweat a little around the AFC. I really wouldn't consider it leaking cause it's not that bad. For Me the plus does the same, maybe even a little less than the OG's but still sweats a bit around the JFC
I to still run one K-F V5, it also sweats a bit thru the Air flow hole, not enough to be a problem! But it does sweat!
Most atty's seem to have at least a few issues, it's real hard, if not imposable to find the perfect atty!
I find the "GTA" deck helps with leaking, I have a few that stay perfectly dry.
But they have their own other set of issues :(

As far as game changing RTA's? There hasn't been any lately :(

I posted the new Proto 75c a while back, $99 is a bit much, & a single 18650 just isn't going to do it for me :(
Everyone got spoiled with the Ebay Hana Enclosures & don't want to spend $100 on a mod any more!
Bottom line what ever works for you & your vaping style is the best you can do :)

I gave up on Yihi a long time ago, I would be totally surprised if their TC was any better on todays chip sets.
The new one at Varitube is really nice looking & the price is better now!
But for Me if it isn't a DNA it's Crap!

I get light sweating to dripping leaks on my Supreme and Lites. I've tried a ton of different wicking types. My KF5's have been leak/sweat free except for 1 that might be ......ed as I've changed all o-rings and tried different wicks.

I went back a few pages before I posted and didn't see your post on the XPV. I saw it for $149 pre-built and thought it was a bit much. I do like Protovapor stuff but they seemed overpriced but the DIY kit was worth it to me as most of my DIY 75c's were in the same price range. I still have a Hana box that I haven't built yet because I have to take apart another DNA75 mod to use the board. I'm very happy with single 18650 mods as I don't vape over 25w in TC and I really like the smaller form factor of single cell mods. I still use my VS rDNA40 and DNA40 mods. I haven't bought a mod in over a year so I splurged :). I've been vaping with the XPV for a few hours now and I really do like the case so I'm very happy with the purchase.

I got a SX Mini a couple of years ago and tried it for a week or so and it wasn't nearly as good as a DNA mod and it was pretty expensive. There were some other little things I didn't like about it so I sold it. I had a discount code when I bought it so I sold it for what I paid for it. It was still a smokin' deal for the buyer as it wasn't discounted anywhere at the time and she saved $40 for basically a new mod (never took it out of my home). I got the SL Class for $120 shipped with a discount code so it wasn't too bad.

Wow, where'd you get that Mr. Fancy Pants USB cable?
Good question. I thought it came with the Theron DNA75c but it might've been some other fancy pants device that came with a USB cable and I can't remember. I usually use Anker cables but it was the one I grabbed to charge my fancy new mod :)

Steamer861, I recently got a YiHi SXmini SL Class SX485J. About every third fire press the vape is anemic and the screen display turns off. Then it comes back on when you let up on the fire button. No it isn't supposed to do this. While I was using it at only 25 watts, I thought maybe the SX485J draws a huge amount of current at first and my Samsung 25R just wasn't cutting it. So I tossed in a Samsung 30T (35A). Nope, the same thing.

They got rid of up and down buttons and put in a joystick. You would think that changes could be changed up and down even with the joystick. Nope, some things only goes up and then round robins (like the flavor mode and the flash memory selection). Nor, I haven't ran into somebody who actually prefers the joystick over the buttons.

The front panel has these tiny indentions all over the front plate. The plate looks like was just punched out instead of machined and a very poor job of it as well. The 510 and the battery cap threads are the worst I ever experienced, very gritty feeling. And I feel like I might need to use a pipe wench just to get the battery cap on and off. A cheap $25 Vamo has much better machining. Thank goodness though, no fidget spinner on the SL Class.

The chipset vapes ok when it isn't doing the anemic thing. In TC, sometimes the display will show you have it set on 700+ degrees if you changed something. Apparently it is just a display error and when you press the fire button it corrects itself. I could see the temperature change live, but not the joules. It displays the same where you set it. And thank goodness, no Bluetooth on the SL Class either. Even though the manual tells you it does.

I would contact the people you bought it from. I had problems with a Yihi board, contacted the seller, it was a known issue & YiHi replaced the board for free :)

This SL SX485J with the display blanking out is also a known problem too Steamer861. Although they all come with this problem because they are using v1.130 firmware. There is a newer firmware version with the fix, but I get this:

The driver installation failed.

And the Device Manager shows:

Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed).

Tried Administrator and Compatibility modes and no help on this Windows 8.1. I fired up a Windows 7 machine and exactly the same. I am thinking of trying Windows XP next and it that fails, Windows 2000.

Pulling the SL SX485J off of the shelf was fun for awhile, but it isn't very much fun to vape on. So I got bored again with it and taken the tank off of the YiHi and put it back on the DNA200 and it is nice to hit the fire button and it vapes perfectly every time. Now the YiHi has to spend a few more months facing the corner of the shelf in shame.

Batteries in or out? Try with no batteries in the mod :)
I'v had similar issues updating Yihi chips & the removal of the batteries did the trick :)
Also remove the atty too.

I'm interested in hearing your opinion on the newer Yihi chip, when you get it.
Hope there is some improvement? Not just Blue tooth & figet spinner 510's

I should get it tomorrow. BillW50's comments aren't giving me any warm'n'fuzzies now .

I remember looking at mods a few months back and saw the fidget spinner on the Yihi and thought it was a prank or something.

I was looking for software for the Yihi and couldn't find any on their site.

I love the battery life of the Theron 75c but it's really bulky so it stays at home most of the time. The Silo 75c's are a good size to take out but the XPV might take over. I usually just charge the battery in the mod but I swapped it out of my XPV so I could vape with it. I almost never do that.
