Hey if you happen to see that Liqua Traditional tobacco on FT you might give it a try, that's the one I said tastes like an Italian cigar....well some kind of cigar perhaps.
You know, I've always wanted to try the liqua stuff.... I just keep thinking my taste has evolved past those flavors? I used to love bobas bounty and golden cigar (or whatever the cigar one Ave was called) and the last time I tried then (from the same bottles I loved before) were just terrible.

I really need to order a few small bottles from FT (liqua, hangsen, etc) and try them and get it out of my system.

Aromomizer with TI coils and a rayon wick last me a month or more at about 5ml a day. When the wick gets dark and funky I just rinse the coils (still wicked) under a slow stream of water and the wick gets nice and white again. The wire itself never seem to get significant buildup. I dont vape atty killer juices though either.

I ordered an Hcigar VT133 yesterday from NWvapes for $80, I'm out of control
Code "20offjuly4th" and free shipping. I really should just build one, a 200 or 75 looks easy compared to a 40. (the soldering part)
That had to be a deal, $80 for a complete mod. I daughter in law wants a new mod, I guess I'll have to look or at least show her.
Building the dna40(s) was painless - solder wise, mounting the screen was challenging if there was no cradle or the build was not a retro fit job (ie Vaporflask dna40) at least for me anyway.
Johnson Creek has really good tobacco flavors. Tennessee Cured and No22 were my favorites.

I'm really trying to fight off the urge to buy a VT75. Having these urges close to national holidays with sales doesn't help.
Don't ya hate that? These damn sales come along and I loose self control, what little I actually have.

The way I got interested in Liqua was I bought a used atty in the classies. The seller cleaned it pretty good but some juice was on the o-rings and it smelled good so I PM"d him and ask what it was. It was Liqua French Pipe, I started buying it from FT but they have problems getting stock. (they aren't suppose to have it).

How often are you folks rewicking?

I tend to rewick or recoil and rewick every couple tanks, 10ml to 15ml. If the coil is ni200 I usually recoil - I've never had much success cleaning those, and even when it does work I can remake the coil faster than I can clean it... SS316 I can dry burn with minimal deformation, so minor adjustment to the coil and new wicking.

I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the juice, as I've got a few home made DIY juices that gunk the Coils so bad every tank needs a new wick and coil, or on the second tank you can taste the gunk burning on the Coils (yuk)

I'm sure guys like KTM who I think mentioned cuts his liquid (or was it willy?) 50/50 with VG, can make a coil and wick last much longer.

I feel like new Coils/wicks every 10ml or so is too often? So I wanted to know what the group does too... Thanks in advance for reading.

I rebuilt my FEV V3 on my out and about mod after about three months of daily use, say 200-300ml. My Aromamizes generally go a month or two as well, say ~200ml worth. I have two Foggers, a V4.1 and a V6, that I keep on the dining room table for after meals and they haven't been touched in over six months and I have no idea how many ml, but it has to be well over 100.

Like Mike, my stuff is relatively low gunking but does contain EM and some other flavors that do gunk. When the vapor output drops or taste goes off, I rebuild. All of them are rayon wicks with Ti coils, although the two on the dining room table are still kanthal on VW only devices.

Rewicking depends heavily on the juice you vape. I've been leaning towards fruit juices which are lighter and gunk much less so I've been going 5-10 tanks before rewicking. I have some juices that can only go 2-3 tanks before rewicking. I've tried Mike's method of rinsing the wick but it hasn't stuck for me. Probably because I have that HUGE box of rayon.

When I started vaping flavors other than tobacco, I was on a mission to find a good strawberry cheesecake/shortcake juice. They tend to gunk fast but it was worth it. I recently bought some freckled lemonade (strawberry lemonade flavor) from MBV and it's really good. So good I bought a 236ml bottle and I'll probably order a couple more since it's on sale.

I have a spreadsheet with all my mods and what tanks are on them and with what flavors. I also keep track of how many time they're filled on the coil and on the wick, date of the coil and wick, wire type, wraps and resistance. I try to keep up with it but not always. I had some ni200 coils go as long as 60 tanks but rewicked 4-7 times.

WELL, I'm making new Coils way too often obviously.

Looks like only @KTMRider has had to change Coils & wicks after a few tanks, like me.

Must be the juice? When the Coils get gunk'd up I can taste it. I'm not crazy (I keep telling myself) lol
I can certainly taste gunked coils, tastes a little burnt or caramelized, and also muted.

I found I got that the most when I put sweeteners in my juice, or when I used dark colored flavorings like coffee. Havent used sweeteners in over a year for that very reason.

I pushed one build to almost 400ml, but it was pretty funky and the coil was just a black blob when I finally rebuilt it. I just re-fill and go until they taste off to me. Having burned out taste buds can help a lot though! Overall, I'd guestimate I get at least 200ml through every build, then just do a complete re-build. Dry burning never did it for me, always had an off flavor when I did that no matter how well I cleaned the coil before re-wicking. Wire is cheap and winding a coil only takes a couple of minutes.

Vaping style has a lot to do with it as well. My wife likes to take a long pull, pause, then another long pull on the same hit. Problem is she holds the fire button down the entire time. I just set her up with a TC build for the first time to see if that helps extend the build life. I get to do the re-builds, of course.

That tobacco flavor from Blu is really a great flavor, to me anyway, and I have yet to find anything as good. Some close, but not quite if you know what I mean.

Thanks, DW, now I know I can use my old CE3s on my DNA stuff if all else fails. I've got at least 100 of them and rebuilt them constantly. Handy for vapemagedon.
Blu used to be associated with Johnson Creek FWIW.....might be worth checking out if your looking for that tobacco flavor..

as far as electric..I realize now its mostly being utilized as a performance increase factor but most tech common now on street all came from racing in some way as history has proven...as it becomes more common on the track and gets transferred to high end cars its going to trickle down eventually....and personally I think it great but mostly for performance and reliability reasons...though considering the replacement cost of half a body of lipos trade in might be devalued a hair or ten :)

Be careful dry firing ss, never dry fire it very hot, bright orange glow, dark red is OK, but it breaks up when you get it very hot. These are pictures of a 0.4 mm SteatlhVape SS 316L coil coiling about 1 - 1.5 seconds apart.

Personally I don't taste much difference in the wire, I do taste a difference in the wicking material.

The jump from silica and ekowool to cotton was HUGE... Rayon is slightly different vs cotton (to me), but I've been doing TC build ONLY since I got my first dna40, and haven't used kanthal in a very long time so I don't really remember those differences.

But ni200 and SS316 and even Ti seem to be all about the same with the exception of the various temp differences, I feel like 450f on ni200 might be different from 450f in SS316 or Ti.... I've been using the SS316 because it Coils well, taste is fine, I have dry burned and re-wicked, plus I have a 1000ft spool of 28g. LOL

After those pics VB posted, dry burning looks like a bad idea.
