Just finished a chat with ecig.com and I am told there will be no 4th of July code. They also said they will not be getting any more DX200s any time soon.

I didn't think they would be repeating a sale like that, that was one heck of a Deal! those who snoozed loosed :)
I'm still thankful for the one I got :) The Finnish on it is so nice the packaging to, they must of lost money at 55 $$

I'm sure Hotcig was dumping inventory in a firesale type situation making room for DR200s so I don't think they lost money at all. I think they just bought an entire container of them & wanted to move them quick & dump them cheap to make room in their own warehouse. The sale page was still listing it so I thought there might be a chance of a restock by the 4th, but not gonna happen. I have enough myself, but saw many were regretting not buying more so I thought I would ask the question.

Sounds like you are happy with your purchase. Glad I could help you participate & acquire one. Does have a nice finish and isn't a bad mod at all. Yeah it is a little big & clunky, but swapping that battery out in under 20 seconds (including hooking the dead one up to the hobby charger) is something the others cant do. Good mod to have around the house. I don't have 2 black V1s & 3 White V2s (2 on Armageddon shelf) for no reason. I only have 1 spare white battery & 1 spare Black battery as I couldn't see myself needing more.

I am glad you like it, and you certainly needed a mod as we all know you only have a few.

I passed on it as I am not a fan. The only commercial mod that has caught my eye is the lost vape.

You must have some Strong will Power! with the discount codes it was less than just a DNA 200 chip at Co-Op pricing. I'm a sucker for a good deal! I'm going to try my best to resist temptation & not buy too much new vape gear.

Yeah, $54 for a board, free mod case with buttons, 510 and battery, can't go wrong. I did mod mine, pulled the board, cleaned the paint off the mount pads of the case to improve the board ground and installed the guts of a VT 510.

One of the spare battery packs I bought has a problem, maybe more then one. Sometimes after setting I hit the fire button, the board wakes up but then shuts off as soon as I release the button and will not fire. And then yesterday it suddenly went from half a battery to flashing low battery. I tried it on both my dx's and that pack did the same thing. It's either a solder/wire problem or a bad cell, the middle cell read low in escribe. I haven't taken it apart yet to see what's going on. But I'm not going to cry over it, bough two for $20 each and the mod for $54 so even if I got a bad battery it's still a bargain and something I can fix one way or the other.

ecig also said they weren't getting anymore HCigar VT133 either. But they got those in the other day. But I already have four of those. :)

I am still kicking myself for not grabbing two of them instead of buying one and one extra battery. If I was going to build one, it would be just like this one. :)

While you were in there did you notice anything wrong with the screen ribbon? = needs placement or bends?

How much grief did it give taking it apart to get to the board?

:( I should have ordered at least 1 extra battery for the white dx200. Now they're gone (out). I figured they'd go cheaper, but I guess everybody who got in on the $55 mods decided to spring for the battery - except me. OH WELL!
They have white DX200 Battery Packs in stock right now. If you want one, I suggest you get it fairly quickly.

It was semi-easy to take apart, first peel the sicker off and there will be three 5.5mm torx headed screws holding the back cover. Those screws go into gold plated standoff's that hold the board to the mod, I used needle nose pliers to loosed those. The problem I ran into on both of mine, on each one, one of the standoff's broke loose and came with the cover & screw. As soon as I saw one of the screws wasn't coming out and the rear cover was starting to lift I stopped and removed the others first, then went back to that one and just left the standoff and cover come off together. If two or all of the standoffs had come with the cover I would have just loosen each one a little at a time so the cover wouldn't binding in one spot.

They had put some kind of glue or epoxy on the standoffs to help keep them tight but the problem is the screws are so long that they can bottom out in the standoff's locking them together, not a problem unless you need to remove them. When I put it back together I made sure the standoff's were tight (no kind of loctite) but I lightly tighten the cover screws. I could have ground the screws down just a tad but I checked and they come back out just fine.

While the screen cable has a big loop and it looked close, I saw no sign of the fire button hitting it so I just left it alone. The board sits a good distance from the face of the mod, even if the fire button did hit the loop there is enough room that it wouldn't pinch it enough to crease it, but I really didn't see any signs of it hitting.
