I know I'm preaching to the choir, but that rayon in the picture has a paper core for added strength when used for the real purpose as "beauty coil". Like Willie said, it can be removed, but it sure is easier to buy the 100% rayon box instead. That's all I've used for over a year now. Tried cotton, once, and went back to silica, after two hits, until I found the rayon thread here. I couldn't deal with the wet sock taste of the cotton at all. Given they way rayon is produced, it's as pure cellulose as is possible to get and never any black specks of bug parts.

Some folks got that box by mistake, that one has a paper ribbon wrapped inside the coil, it can be pulled out.
Thats unfortunate for the Origin vape customers.

They should probably mention the whole need for removal of paper thing.

It would be more honest for them to admit that they don't know their ... from their elbow about rayon.

Yeah, when JeremyR started the Rayon thread there were always someone jumping in posting it was dangerous to use or it was a synthetic. Sometimes they would argue a few days then go away once they finally did their research, they are probably wicking with rayon in the closest now.

Just been coiling and cleaning some coils this weekend, I have doubled up on build decks so I don't have to wick, coil or build when it's not convenient and cut some packing foam to make a handy spare coil tin.

That is a great idea! If anyone sees a deal on good decks please post em up. I looked at them on SC ($15) and the clones on FT but wonder about the quality of the clones.

When I first saw those black specks, I thought that was dirt. But those who have picked cotton in the past tell me what those specks are is actually cotton seeds.

I got the one's Mike linked to, both V1 & V2 are identical except to V2 was a little cheaper.

Thanks guys, I'll get some of those ordered this week!

Has anyone tried opening the feed holes up or don't they need it? Maybe mine is working fine and it's just the cooler vape. I'm just missing the throat hit I'm use too, I can get it if I crank the heat up to 510 but I was at 430 with the Zephyrus. I worry about keeping my vape as safe as possible, I rather keep the temp as low as I can but now I find myself chain vaping LoL. Maybe it's just a learning curve and getting use to it.

I have never drilled out the holes. I get plenty of juice feed. Just dont pack the rayon in tight over the holes, you want to just cover them without packing.

I am using dual TI coils ohming out at 0.15 to 0.16. I find that 450 is usually a good starting point, and sometimes I have to inch up as far as 510. I think the inching up occurs as my coil gets buildup on it.

I use vertical coils. I have learned that it is a mistake to allow too much rayon sticking out the top of the coil, I get better results trimming the top more/less even with the top of the posts.

I haven't even considered drilling out the feed holes. I'm using the same coils as Mike but in horizontal mode, 3mm ID. It did take a little time to finesse the tail trimming to get them to just touch the bottom of the well, but well worth the time and effort. I usually run 0 to 50 watts at 400F and have a really nice vape and extremely long coil life. I just got a pair of nice "tower tipped" cuticle shears and they really do a fantastic job of trimming, both dry and wet, wicks. In fact I did such a "great" job on a Fogger V6 yesterday it leaks with the top cap off, so I have to work really fast when filling it.

Speaking of coils, I've got to order some more Ti and maybe some SS to give that aa try. I may even have a go at some "roll your own" claptons, but that looks like a lot of trouble to me.
