Just a tip to anyone with a loose AFC ring on V2 Mizer. I had two black ones where the rings were so loose that they would change every time I took it out of my pocket. The SS version didnt seem to have that issue. I tried new OEM O-rings and it didnt help a bit. Bought these and there working like a champ. Not quite as soft and compressible as the OEM ones. Working just right.

Oh... and.... they come from a source that does NOT sell any tobacco products!

Thanks Mike! That's been the only frustration with the V2 that I've had, these are a good find!

That magazine was raided back in the day and their subscriber list was taken. At the same time DEA raided most of the advertisers and snapped up their customer records. Tin foil hats that bought off bookstore shelves and shipped equipment to false addresses were laughing at those that gave them crap about their tin foil hats.

The ATF did the same thing with a company that sold legal 80% receivers. They had no right too but they raided the shop with guns drawn, forced everyone to leave then broke into the company's safe, took the computers and the records of all customers. People took video of the breaking into the safe through the window, below.

Some think your safe if you buy stuff with cash at gun shows, little do they know the ATF has people in plain clothes watching, ask any of the gun dealers at the shows, I know some. The ATF was also caught driving through the parking lots at gun shows video taping license plates and people going in and out.

I think now that the NSA captures all means of communications there really no need for that anymore. Any websites you visit, anything you post, text, email and say on the phone is all recorded now so there's no fly below the radar anymore. Unless your a hermit that lives in a van down my the river.

Thank You GWBush for the "Patriot" Act :sneaky:

Maybe I'm wrong, I'm not claiming to be any kind of expert.... I'm just saying, I can't see any reason to be in trouble by talking about a vapor product. I mean if that's the case, this forum and all of us have issues. If that's the case if any of us talk about something we may or may not aquire post 8/8 have problems or potential problems.

Am I wrong?

Well on another topic, I was in a Vape store earlier and passed on a brand new ZNA mod (clone) new in the box for $19.99.... It was th 18490 version, a-mod branded box. No extras. Couldn't power it up because it didn't have the 18650 tube and the store didn't have a 18490 battery LMAO. So I don't know what clone chip it was but I would have put a real dna40 in it anyways.... But like the store I don't have any 18490/18500 batteries either, so I figured what's the point. If someone would have told me I would leave a new ZNA somewhere for $20 I wouldn't have believed it. My my how times have changed.

Possessing, and demonstrating, a post 8/8 device could be an issue. Mere possession of a banned device, and publicizing that possession, could be a problem for a US resident reviewer type.

I am not the brightest boy on the block and probably have it wrong, but as I interpreted the deeming it is not necessarily the possession of a device that can get you in trouble, but something along the lines of providing instruction in the use of a vaping product, promoting its use in any way, in any venue, or recommending to others by any manufacturer, distributor, affiliate, or OTHER, (paid or unpaid, employed by or not), that this is a product you would buy, recommend, or endorse is considered advertisement of a controlled substance and Banned as of 8/8/2016. If the product is provided free for review it is considered as payment and therefore the person doing the deed is an employee making both that person and the provider responsible.

I'm sure people here will chime in with the particular Deeming Paragraphs/Declarations/Rules language along with their interpretation. They will be more accurate than I am capable of.

Essentially, the FDA outlawed Free Speech (IMHO) by Deeming YouTube Reviews of Vape Equipment as advertisement, or instruction in proper use of equipment by Vape Shop Staff on product they are selling, etc as advertising or advocating use of a controlled substance even if it contains no Nicotine.

YMMV

Ok, I'm a little lost now. I'll admit I did not read the 499 pages of the regs. I'm not a lawyer or a cop or a judge or any of that kind of stuff. I'm a consumer in the 21st century where I click on a button on my device (phone/laptop) and soon after toilet paper can appear at my door without ever leaving the house. I can shop online for anything from a loaf of bread to a new car, new home or even a new job. All from the comfort of my underwear. Today's world is a see it, click it, own it place we live in today. My 30 year old kids have no clue what it's like to listen to a radio waiting for a certain song to play to catch the name or artist, so you physically go to the store and buy the whole damn album... All in person.

Ok, so in this wonderful modern world we all live in, if I buy a product from a web site, and it arrives to me.. And listen, I'm not a Vape encyclopedia, I don't know when a kayfun 3.1 came out, or the kayfun 7 came out, but anyway I get this device, the kayfun 7 or the sigelie 333 watt TC device that runs on 4s lipo pack.. And post pictures here to show my buddies (and you are all my buddies!) are you telling me that I could potentially get in trouble for showing you or talking to you about that device?

Now, I understand ignorance of the law is not a defense. But seriously how many of us here can honestly without a doubt claim to know every single product available? Dates produced? Etc.. Etc.. And I'm not saying that as a defense I'm being honest.

True Story, I bought a cell phone on eBay years ago, years and years and years ago. Paid $xxx amount for the phone, turned out the phone shipped from Ireland or something like that, it was locked to their carrier, at that time could not be unlocked, sold as new, but had pictures of the guys vacation on it... Now, that purchase was completely innocent to me... I got burned financially because the seller lied, plus I didn't make note of where he was shipping from. But if that were a Vape product and I come here and tell my story, according to what y'all are saying, I could get in trouble for that?

I'm NOT saying you couldn't, I'm just saying I doubt that's the kind of stuff they'd be looking for. They would be more interested in the guy selling 100 pieces of a item that is not being represented accurately or may be shipping in a banned item...

I dunno... Not to go all outside the lines here, there is so much stuff that gets shipped in to the usa (and other countries too probably) from colorbooks, non licensed cell phone cases at the mall, ladies purses that say LV, to extra Virgin olive oil... All fake. All banned.. All bought legally by a consumer. Now we as those consumers don't have the right to discuss those purchases? "this thing is garbage" or "it's amazing" or "it matched my others perfectly"????

How many freedoms and liberties does making that statement alone violate?

To be clear, I'm not picking on anyone here... We are all friends here, I'm trying to better educate myself. Because like I said I didn't read the regs because I knew I wouldn't understand them fully. But if it's taking away my ability to socialize my hobby with you people, to which I'm eternally grateful for meeting all of you, well I'd be devastated. Especially when I can't do a coffee search on my phone when my grandkids are around because of the federally illegal garbage and filth that pops up that actually kills people and that's on every f'ing bit, block and electron on the internet!

Sorry...steam has been expelled. Thru my ears which I had prior to Aug 8 2016!

Its sort of a tradition. It started in one of my co-ops where a sideline discussion to keep everyone entertained, while we waited on Evolv or whomever, was coffee. It evolved from there.

Serving morning coffee became a way of saying "Good Morning". Sexy woman serving coffee, well.... it just fit.......

AT the end of the day it is all going to boil down to "follow the money". If money doesnt change hands then the Feds are not likely to expend the resources on it, unless they feel the need to make an example of someone.

As to what is or is not legal, a few hard facts are known, but most of the language was so ambiguous that they could interpret it pretty much any way they want. Its going to take a few court cases to put clarity on all of this. Meanwhile the US vape market will consolidate, greatly, which is exactly what the FDA wants. It is much easier to manage a consolidated market than to tame the wild wild west.

I don't think so, not for the near future. But after some time passes I wouldn't be surprised to read the FDA cherry picked someone to make an example of in hopes of sending out a wave of fear. That's what the ATF did with Ares Armory, at that time they were one of a few who were selling the 80% receivers and well known in the shooter's world. As I said in my prior post, they raided them and took all the customer's records. As far as I know they never raided or contacted any of the customers, but they achieved their goal by scaring a lot of people and stopping a lot of people who were thinking about buying one. You should have read posts on gun forums of people who were crapping their pants, of course I'm sure some of those posters were shills from the ATF trying to gin up more fear. Easy to narrow down those who be shills, joined short time before posting, almost no info in their profile, very few posts and they never respond to questions or challenge. Kind of like what we saw on this forum a couple days ago......

If you think the FDA isn't here on this, the biggest ecig forum, your kidding yourself.

ERM+ #015 is back up and running!

Mikey P, I'll trade ya 2 white JST connectors for 2 XT 30 female connectors!

J/K...kinda. I had to solder one up on a new battery cuz the old battery was kaput and I was too lazy (again) to desolder the XT 30 off of it.

The new-to-me DNA200 has the "duller" OLED screen, but the menu selections perform MUCH quicker than the other board. Are there firmware updates I'm supposed to download or something?

There is a early release escribe software that includes early firmware posted over there, this version is named SP3 --> Early Firmware - Evolv DNA Forum
Got some neat upgrades, I really like the changes to "Device Monitor",
You can now launch it without opening escribe.
You can have multiple monitor windows running at once.
Mouse over anywhere on the graph that has readings and it will give the numbers at that point, slide the mouse left or right and watch the numbers for those points change as you move.
Now you can scroll back to the beginning even after the graph runs off the window, slider at the bottom of the graph.

Note to view all the tabs as before you'll have to go to the top menu's, go to "Options" to "User Interface" then pick "Manufacture". It's preset to show min tabs, I guess for new users or those who don't care to change setting under the "Mod" tab.

Was the battery death due to the board malfunction? Did you try to recover your battery with E-Scribe?
I'm just asking cause I had board malfunctions were it appeared to have killed my batteries :(
I was able to revive my batteries with the recovery function in E-Scribe :)
My batteries are still performing flawlessly, now months later :)

I saw nowhere that possession was illegal, that it is a controlled substance, or that an individual not an owner or employee at a place that sells vape stuff cannot say whatever the heck they want about vape equipment or methods of building, etc. Perhaps I missed it in the 499 pages of gobblty ...., but someone will have to point to me where those rules are if they exist.
