OK VB, got thinking tonight and I do have pics, video too! But the quality is poor, these are from my security camera's. First pic shows me when I first started, you can see no snow on me or the tractor, next pic shows me shortly after, you can see the snow is starting to cover me and the tractor where it blew back on me. The video gives an idea how far up and out the blower will put the snow in the air, a gust of wind comes and BAM, instant snow man.....

Spent many a night running a snowblower for hours in high shifting winds and know exactly how it feels to be a walking Popsicle after it blows back all over you. One time I had a half inch of ice frozen to my Carharts when I got home.

That's even more of a snow blast than I imagined Slick. Do they make them with heated cab like tractors these day's? Anyway your pics are probably the only snow I will see this year, may get some in Jan if we are lucky, but it's no longer an annual certainity.

They do make cabs, not sure if they are heated. I looked at a one about ten years ago that was on a damaged tractor like mine but newer, it was a trade in at the local JD dealer. The cab was all tempered glass, full doors and the frame was heavy duty, acted as a safety roll cage. I thought about trying to buy it but after sitting in it found it to be too tight inside when you turn to look while backing up, I often have to back out into the road and were I live the line of sight is already restricted. I gave up on the idea, while a cab would be nice, it would cost more then what the tractor cost me 28 years ago, getting cold while blowing snow is just part of it. Back in the mid 70's when my JD was made the cabs where a lite frame covered with canvas with plastic windows, something like a convertible top on a car and were even smaller. My Dad had a JD like mine when I was young, back then our house was 60's yard from the road, Dad would bundle up in a snowmobile suit and be covered when he got done. I found my tractor at a local auction shortly after we bought this house in 86, it came with the mower, blower, tire weights and chains. She has been a good tractor, I've rebuilt the engine twice, the mower once and the blower last fall. To replace it all with a new setup would be about $7K, I'll keep her going as long as I'm alive, next summer she's getting new tires and a new seat.
