When I first tried it I was worried it would reduce the juice flow but rayon is just so good at wicking it didn't bother it a bit. I also like the way the tails fold under, they aren't pushed out to the sides as much because you aren't folding over the cut ends. One of the big advantages of building new coils every 2-3 days, I don't have to be very fussy on the wicking, I'm not looking for longevity any more and I can get away with a lot because of it.
Yeah, he still drops in periodically. He would like your idea. I don't remember anyone pulling fibers to reduce rayon density in the coil but I've only been on the thread for a year or so.
There are still some that thin wicktails by combing/picking, I never have, I just cut off the top half or however much needed. I have pulled fibers off the top to get an old wick to come out of the coil but never thought to pull them out to reduce density.

I'm more then happy to post it over there but I'm thinking if someone who's been active posted it, it might get more attention then someone who just dropped in. There may be some who remember me but I'm sure they is far more who don't know me. Feel free to post it, I don't care about any credit, just happy to give back, help when and were I can. Give it a try and see how it works for you, pack a coil more then normal, vape it for a bit, your normal break in time or close to it and if it's not delivering pull a little and see how it works for you then you can post your experience. If you rather I post it, then I will.

I don't even trim rayon (or cotton) any more... I always use the Scottish roll method, rayon or cotton, and when the wick is solidly in place in the coil I start pulling out fibers from the tails until they fit in the channels.
Began doing that for RDTAs, now I use the method for just about any atomizers
I call this the Scottish moustache, because of the resulting wick shape [emoji2]

.....my wife and I got a chuckle out of that. We stopped watching for the same reason.
Still having issues with this site having to log in every single time.
My VS DNA 200 was having some battery issues where after charging to 12.6v, the wH was around 800 and would take an extra 30-60 mins to reset to 1054. Looked on VS site for replacement batteries and they're out of stock. I have a few 950mah 3s from my quads so I grabbed one. Pulled the FullyMax from the DNA200 and it was puffed. I slapped on a XT30 connector on the DNA200 and plugged in my extra battery. There's enough room in there that some extra length of the balance connector didn't matter. Now I can swap batteries if I really need to.
Aromamizer Supreme Lites still leak. Changed the o-rings for the JC and AFC and didn't make a difference. I just use them at home. With a paper towel handy. My Tobeco KF5's are still my favorites.
