morning, willy! ;) i'm as ready as i'm gonna be - no need to for additional stress :D

Well I need to go back out again, my trip got cut short when the wife called and I had to rush home. I'll finish up in a smaller town where it won't be such a mad house as the big city I went to yesterday.

My cat has been missing for a few days and he showed up yesterday acting very weak and sick with dried blood around the eyes and nose. We rushed him to the vet at 4:45 PM, they were kind enough to stay till we got there and checked him out. He was very dehydrated but the good news is they couldn't find any injury's. They gave him injections of fluids, pain meds & antibiotics and sent meds home. He just ate a little more and has been drinking so it looks like he'll be OK. He's my buddy, years ago he showed up here as a skin and bones kitten and attached himself to me starting that night, he doesn't care for the wife or anyone else. He likes to sit on my lap and suck on his front leg like he's nursing while purring. I thought he was a gone, when it's cold out he never stays away from the house for more then a couple hours and my daughter's cat from next door came up missing and hasn't been seen for three weeks so my fear was and is someone is harming neighborhood cats. I got all I want for Christmas, my buddy back, I really thought I lost him. I'm getting some of those GPS tracking tags they have for pet collars now, I've seen them for under $30, you can track where they are and where they've been.

so glad for you, willy! :) sometimes, i still hope my cat that disappeared memorial day will show :(

Thirty plus years ago one of our cats got away from my wife and ran off while at the vets, we kept going back, calling and looking for him for a couple weeks but there was no sign of him. A month later one morning we heard a cat meowing at the front door and there he was, skinny but otherwise OK, I was utterly astounded! We lived five miles from the vet's office and there were two creeks between us, he apparently found the bridges to cross and somehow, his way home. So there is always hope, prayers never hurt, I'll send some your way.

I am getting those tracking tags!

post it here once you find something suitable ;)

Will do, got some research to do and I want to see if the vet has any recommendations. I see some are bluetooth and are used with a app on a phone for shorter ranges but I want one that has GPS that actually tracks current locations and tracking history on maps, with pin point accuracy. Those may be more then the $30 range I first thought but then again we dropped $155 at the vet yesterday so... If someone is hurting and killing neighborhood cats and if it would help catch and convict them I'd sue them for a hell of a lot more then the cost of the device, I'd also cause them pain, (not physical, I'd stay within the law) for a long, long time.

Our other cat started throwing up today, three times so far that I know of, she won't eat but she's drinking a ton of water. These things may all be by odd chance, but it really has me wondering if they aren't all connected. I have a cat door to the basement then there is another one from the basement to outside so they can go in and out as they choose. I blocked the outside door and we are keeping them inside for now.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Willie and Tibs, from what I see, admittedly just a quick look, true GPS stuff needs a monthly fee, ~$7.00, as well. Most seem to use the cell towers for tracking.

I hope your cats get well soon, Willie. Leo just went from an allergy, to "bad tummy" (caused by the allergy meds), to bronchitis. I don't even want to think about what we've spent at the vet and now he needs to go in for "regular maintenance" shots, too. We are getting frequent flyer miles at the vet, I think.

I love my cat so much.
The past 2 1/2 weeks I've racked up nearly 2K on the credit card.
A sudden appearance of a well licked lump on his bottom, cancer in the biopsy, surgery - can't remove it all due to the area. Blood work came back fine, xray came back no masses...but the histopathology report came back adenocarcenoma.
Stitches come out tomorrow and will be taking report and xray to oncologist to see what they have to say.

Did I ever mention my cat's name is Willy? Wild Willy to be precise, originally he was a stray where I work and he bit the guy that would feed him...
I took him home around 11 years ago, he's better than 18 years old now.........at least $3000 in that time with the vet.

Back about 10 years ago, When I lived in the bush. Our cat left one night & didn't return for 5 weeks!
We waited & waited, finally were ready to replace her & She came back :)
Were We lived there were only 5 families that lived out there year round, So I'm pretty sure no one took Her in.
I don't know were She was or how She found her way back, you would think with fox's & wolves she wouldn't have been able to survive for that long in the bush. But She Did :)

When we got the new Cat we have now, the vet asked if we wanted to chip her.
I asked if I would be able to track Her with an app or some thing?
The vet said no, just to identify Her if the dog catcher brought Her in :(
I said that was not worth it, it would be nice if a tracking chip could be used with GPS or even a phone app.

They really become part of the family, I've lost track of how many strays we've taken in over all the years. Or as I read once, they choose to live with us which I think is more truth. Anyone who would say pet's don't feel love I'd say obviously you've never had a pet and sorry, but you wrong. I've had times when I wouldn't go to a doctor because I knew it was going to cost me a lot of money but I don't seem to have a problem writing checks to save our pets.

I'm so sorry classy, my thoughts and prayers will be with you.

We had one with cancer, it was to far advanced and all they could do was keep her on pain meds. The vet said I should consider letting her go at some point soon because she was in pain most of the time. I was angry, my reply was, I lost my Dad to cancer and he fought right up to the last few hours to hang on, I've lived with pain for years, some days are good, some bad, some really bad. You tell me when you can say with 100% certainty she won't have one more good day left and I'll consider but if there is a chance she has one more good day left I can't take that away from her. As sick as she was, on a good day she would still wander down to the woods where she loved to go, I couldn't take that from her. Finally I knew the time had come, I held her until she feel asleep then told them to give the injection in the IV, I didn't want her to go in fear.

On Dad's last day, he hadn't been awake for the three prior, I whispered to him it was OK to let go, don't worry, I'd take care of the family. He open his eyes and all he could say was "stay", it broke my heart that I told him to let go and it haunts me to this day.

Well Will and all I've got a 21 yr old cat here that you can have. He's deaf so he yells all day long if your out of his sight. He eats and drinks like a monster. A few weeks ago I thought it was time to say good bye to my old friend, he was really in bad shape on the couch not really moving or eating. I took that oppurtunity to cut his nails and wash him. Next day hes running around like a kitten.
