I liked the Milwaukee but it did use up batteries. I ended up sending two out to be rebuilt but over the lifetime of the drill that isn't too bad. Rebuilding was less than half the cost of a new battery. I may look into a Rigid, I ike that kind of warranty. Being a wiseacre I always ask "who's life" when I'm told something has a lifetime warranty. Think about it, lifetime warranty for an item means when it breaks the warranty is over.

I'm rethinking the battery blower. Too many complaints about, surprise surprise, battery failures. The Mrs is already talking a Stihl. There's a dealer about three miles from us. I may end up with a backpack instead of hand held though.

Many years ago I had a Geo Metro. It had a 3 cylinder Suzuki 997cc engine with throttle body injection. With 4 of us in it going up I44 to St Louis to watch the Cardinals. Wouldn't make 70 mph on the bigger hills, but the darn thing got 50 to 55 mpg on those trips with the pedal down a lot. Any time I hear about a car that gets 30 to 40 mpg I think of that old tin can. It was disposable though, the ball joint cups were actually the A arm metal pressed into a cup so you had to replace the whole A arm / ball joint assembly. Also, whatever engineer decided that the brake rotors needed to be bolted onto the spindles from behind so they were trapped got a cussing from me.

When I was in the security guard business we had a Chevy Chevette diesel. At the time I weighed about 225 and my partner weighed about 350. With the two of us in it, coming out of the northbound toll plaza at the Driscoll (Edison) Bridge, we'd floor the thing. It would get up to about 60 by the time we hit the uphill of the bridge. At the top of the bridge it would be down to 40. It did get 35-40mpg though, you just couldn't be in a rush. Made a great "patrol" vehicle in developments unless there was a chase involved.

Yeah, that's what my Cherokee (can I say that and still be PC and without culturally appropriating?) does. I track mileage in a spreadsheet and it floats from the high 16s to the high 18s. On one trip,mostly freeway driving without traffic, I got 20mpg plus, but that was an exception.

My truck gets 12-13 mpg around town with some highway driving. I get up to 16-17mpg when I'm on a road trip and feather the gas. Luckily, I have the 36g gas tank option so I can drive about 550-600 miles per tank on the highways or 400-450 around town. $60-100 fill ups kinda suck though.

I use DriverDiary app to track my mpg.

That sounds about like my '88 Suburban 2500 4x4. 36 gallon tank made filling it up painful at times, even back then.

Just put on my snow tires, TPM won't reset by letting air out It works fine on My 2010, now with the 2015, I need to buy the reset tool ($200) or go to a place that has one

My favorite electric car story was when "Car and Driver" did a test drive of a Tesla. The writer picked the car up from a dealer in Manhattan and was driving it home to Connecticut. It was summer time and he had the AC running. He got about 100 miles and got a "recharge needed" warning while on a super highway. By the time he got to an exit, the car totally shut down. He was in contact with the dealer who sent out a service vehicle. That arrived and the batteries in the Tesla were so low they wouldn't charge or the software wouldn't allow them to charge. They had to flat bed it back to the dealer.

Bottom line is he got about 110 miles out of a charge that was rated at 250 miles. But that 250 mile rating didn't include real world things like AC/heat, brake lights, headlights, radio and so on.

I also wonder if the "carbon footprint" of an all electric vehicle includes the "carbon" produced manufacturing the batteries and then safely disposing of them when they die. I've asked several dealers a get a nice "talk around the question" style answer.

Every vehicle manufactured has a carbon footprint for that manufacturing. They don't talk about any of them.

A piece of black tape will fix that

I bought a $30 TPMS reset tool off eBay years ago when I got new wheels and tires for my truck. Cheaper than the factory tool and works great. What make and model do you drive?

I found a reset tool on Amazon for $20 Only problem Canada Post is on Strike
I have some buds at the oil change place, will drop by & get them to reset for now.
When the strike ends I will order the cheepy off Amazon
What kind of Sucks is on the 2010, no tool was needed, just start the process with the key fob & let the Air out till the truck beeped & just go around till they were all done.
I found a video on YT & the 2015 needs the tool for sure

Built one of the Siren 2 earlier and have been vaping it tonight. First build leaked half the tank. Cleaned it out and rewicked and it seems to work now. Could've been an o-ring that wasn't seated right. The 24mm tank fits the XPV perfectly. The gunmetal finish is uneven around the top cap but it works. I really like the 1/4 turn cap.

I use Dewalt cordless tools, lots of the 18v nicad and 20vmax li-ion variety. As someone mentioned nicad battery packs are way over priced so I just rebuild them with turnigy sub-c batteries. There's 15 cells in an 18v pack and I buy the cells by the case so with a little time and effort the packs cost me around $25 to rebuild.

I added a bunch of Dewalt 20vmax tools my 18v collection about three years ago and so far all those packs still work great. I did have one Dewalt 24vmax drill motor burn out but one of my workers was abusing it while drilling 1-1/2" holes through metal building gurts. You can't find good help anymore!

My work truck is a 99 F250 7.3ltr deisel. 15.5 mpg going downhill, uphill, pulling a trailer, it just doesn't seem to care. Down from 18mph with the introduction of low sulfur fuel.

That's how things tend to work out for me. I bought the truck used in 2001 because diesel was cheaper than regular gas and it got better fuel economy than a big gas engine to boot. 3 years later the govt screwed that up real nice for me with the low sulfur mandate.

There is a new one looming, by 2020 the engine will shut off every time you stop at a traffic light. My kids new car does this now, I cant tell you how much that it Burns my ... to here the car restart at every traffic light
So much so that I'm considering trading in my Truck before 2020 models come out!

Had the fire switch on a second DNA board start to act up, first one was on a 200, now a 75. It doesn't want to fire unless I press harder then normal, the other thing that happens is sometimes it will make/break connection rapidly when pressed throwing the board into locked mode. For a short term fix I took a thin self sticking bumper pad like used on kitchen cabinet doors, that gives a little more throw and helps a lot but it's a temporary patch. I'll try taking the switch apart and see if cleaning the contacts and the little cup disk inside will fix it, I've taken these kind of switches apart before and had some success cleaning them but you have to be very careful, the locking tab on the side of the body of the switch will shear right off if your not careful, once that happens it's pretty much a ruined switch. The locking tab that will shear off is pointed at with the yellow arrow, pushing down and holding pressure on the top (black arrow) first before lifting the lock (blue arrow) takes pressure off that locking tab, have to be careful!

If all else fails I'll have to try replacing the switch, that's going to take some fine soldering and will really test my skills, first I'll have to see if Evolv will give up the part number of the switches so I can order them.

Well that's just going to result in a lot of accidents, people will start running stop signs and red lights, around here it's already common and the police do nothing. They don't even give speeding tickets anymore unless your on the interstate and 20MPH over the limit, on the rural roads it's the wild west even in towns and villages. Upstate NY has gone to hell.
