Hmm.. All the Evolv boards I've had (including a bunch of 75's) up til today have the inductors like these, maybe Evolv ran short and had to get some from another supplier.

I'm puzzled where you see a big difference?

An inductor is a passive component; unlike micro-controllers or other specialized chips, there's little or nothing proprietary about them, meaning there's likely a bunch of manufacturers that make interchangeable parts.

LoL, think you're missing the point. I bought these "on sale" $10 75 boards, they get here and they don't look like any Evlov board I've ever seen due to the inductors on them, I have seen these inductors on China cloned boards. So I wondered, are these China knock offs and that's why they were $10? That's all. :)

Anybody have one of those Hana Modz One Mods? I didn't realize they are less than 40 grams in weight and are tiny for a 18650 mod. That sounds perfect for grabbing one while on the go. :vapor:

Got a link to one or a pic, not sure exactly which one your talking about.

dwcraig1 all ready posted the link :) the "Ebay Hana Guy" sells them.
I remember these getting massively reduced in price, before Hana even went under, cause maybe they weren't good sellers?

IMO there are better choices, even if the lite weight is appealing to you.

Ah, I looked at those too but worried about the plastic latches that hold the two halves not holding up long. They are like the HotCig DX's, like the idea but that's what kept me from ordering any. At this point in this video the guy talks about that issue and you get an idea what those tabs look like. But I guess for the price, the board alone is worth it. Even if the tabs failed you could rig something else to hold the two halves together or salvage the board for something else.

Sitting down, facing forward.
I bought a couple of those a while back. They are small, but they are kind of flimsy. The battery door latches are a total PITA and you have to be EXTREMELY careful when opening them up to change a battery. I forgot I had them and may look into putting a DNA60 in them just for laughs.

Plug one into your PC. Does it talk to e-scribe? Can you update the firmware on the board? It's easy enough to clone a board, but it's much harder to clone firmware and especially a bootloader, and I would assume Evolv did their homework with respect to at least being able to detect clone boards.

I have a big problem with Chinese clones of my product, and they work with whatever version they come with, but we can detect them and refuse to update them.

Yup, I posted that a few posts back, last night on the prior page --> e-cigarette-forum.com/threads/evolv-ing-thread.736118/page-957#post-21298749

Well connected to Escribe, clicked "Get Information" and they all show a Ser# and the same date of July 7th, 2016, must be legit.

I don't believe I ever mentioned this in any vaping forum (usually on RC forums), but enough of you here can probably use one of these to quickly checkout your loose lipos (works great on those DX200 battery packs too). Maybe some of you are already using these for all I know.

They are very handy for quickly checking lipo batteries with a balance plug. These are the no brand ones, but there are rebranded ones by known companies too. They check things like:
  • battery cell voltages
  • total voltage
  • lowest cell voltage
  • highest cell voltage
  • voltage difference between cells
  • remaining battery capacity percentage
I wouldn't trust the discharger part. As I heard they can't handle the heat longer than about 5 minutes anyway. And some of them have extra features like checking each cell's battery resistance (usually in a black case). And I forget what the exact total voltage you need for accuracy, but I think it is 6.5v or higher. Lower it reads the cells lower than actual. Like a 1 cell lipo at 4v will read 3.75v. There are youtube videos about these and this quirk. I've been using these for years and they are very quick and easy. :)

zbbmods refreshed his inventory, all colors back in stock.

I ordered 8 enclosures and he sent me 22 batteries!!
Oh no really? I had to order some in really ugly colors (like puke green) since I figured this might be the end of them and I better get some now. And my tracking number still shows Pre-Shipment.

Wait... I just got an email message that my Hana order was delivered. What? Hey that isn't the tracking number I was given. Wait while I walk 1/8 mile to the mailbox... I'll be darn, they were here yesterday. Yup, I have 4 puke colored enclosures with 6 lipos. 2 lipos have a really low cells (much lower than 2.5v) but the other 4 checkout fine. So check them out before you use them in something. Maybe that is why zbbmods sends out extra, as some of them isn't much good. :)

That guy on Ebay selling those Hana enclosures dirt cheap with the lipos, is a nice honey hole. Very surprised he put in extra lipos with my order. I couldn't resist, so i ordered more!!!!. Even if i never use the enclosures, the cost alone of a new 950mah lipo is worth buying the lot from that seller.

Whoever brought up the DNA 75 boards using different power inductors, Evolv sources parts from wherever they can get them. An inductor being nothing more than a coil of wire encased in a ferrite material, brand specific is not necessary. They usually use Vishay inductors (the non grey colored ones). My guess is the Vishay supply/availability dried up, so, on to the next best cost option.
