I think I can understand why people like squonkers. With these Merlin's I discovered when you unscrew the top to refill it creates a vacuum inside the tank, a good size bubble will appear at the juice flow port. So what I'll do if the flavor drops off at all, I'll unscrew the cap 3/4 a turn, watch the bubble rise then screw the top back on, it acts like a pump and pushes juice into the wick and the wick gets saturated, I'll repeat until the bubble stops showing. As soon as I do that I get a big flavor boost, sometimes I'll even need to drop the temp 5-10 deg. So doing that, it's not a lot different than squonking, tank squonking.

Sounds like you have a wicking issue? The Supreme Plus's are bad for that, if your wick isn't just right, it don't keep up good & the flavour drops off :( A quick wick adjustment & it's back to producing the good flavour :) Getting the wick just right is the whole trick with tanks, with a BF'er it a lot easier!

Could be, I use a thicker rayon tail than most do, thin them to about 50%, I got sick of the leaking/weeping, those issues are gone now. And I don't fuss much when building, I don't brush tails or make coil spacing absolutely perfect. It works for me and like they say when using hand grenades, close enough.

I am so offended, I find that to be hate speech. And I hate hate because I am tolerant.

I apologize for offending you! I realize now you identify as a "Squonker" & the pronoun Tanker may have Hurt your feelings :( In the future I will try to be more mindful of your triggers!

Last night before going to work I set my Boxer styled dna250C squonker up with my Taifun styled BTD.
I was going to take it to work but backed out on that as I was getting good results from it but not good enough.
So I've been giving it quite a bit of thought and feel that both the RDA coils and RTA coils are both saturated about the same. This was determined with EScribe. Now what is really different between the RBA and RTA that I'm comparing is the air flow on the coils. I'm using same coil, juice and power.
When I get home I shall do a little experiment to see if I can get similar air flow from a different RBA.

Edit: This is by no means my first (squonker) rodeo

No tanks in my coral, don't have the patience for leaking, dryhits, stuck seals, broken glass etc. .

I used to love figuring out the best coil/wicking combo for each new RTA. I don't know what happened, maybe I got burned out on it.

Squonker RDA combos just work great all of the time for me.

I am reasonably successful with my experiment. I put a single dual strand twisted 2.7 mm SS430 coil in my Kryten. The coil is really close to the air hole which is half way open, the other side air hole has Scotch tape covering it. This I can enjoy vaping.

Odd... I have quite a few tanks here and I don't have any problems of leaking, dry hits, stuck seals, broken glass, etc. I even heard people were breaking the glass in the new at the time Subtanks. So I bought a box of glass for mine just in case. I used them for years and not a single crack, chip or anything.

And in 5 years, I probably had 6 tank leaks. I had far more leaks than this from squonkers. What some might call leaks from a tank is probably what I call condensation. Yeah bottom airflow tanks are bad for this. But every tank or two, you just dump it out by tilting on its side or by blowing it out. Far less trouble than dealing with a squonker IMHO. ;) You can have tank leaks from wicking too loose. But that is easy to fix.

Dry hits? Wicking too tight. Simple enough. ;)

Stuck seals? They are almost always made out of silicone. I don't think I ever saw a really stuck silicone seal.

My. Boxer clone. With the 250c is working. Wonderfully! I have dual simple round wire Ti coils in a BTFC. On it, it’s. Kicking ...!
I just can’t be bothered with it, cause my tanks work so well :)

Anyone ever hear of a Sherman "squonker" or an M1A1 Abrams "squonker"? Need I say more!!!

(hopefully, no one will be triggered and run to their safe space, sucking a thumb, to get play dough, coloring books and a woobie)

I just stayed in my recliner, trembling and shaking but I did survive. I felt so very brave and mother was just so proud.
