Yeah but
Steamer861, people outstanding at their jobs should get paid more. If they are not rewarded for their efforts, all you are going to get is crap. I've seen it over and over again. Sorry, but there is enough crap out there right now and we don't need more.
Yup, Big Pharma and lobbyist shouldn't even exist in a fair market. But thanks to backdoor deals, they are highly protected. They really need to go to get things back on track. And prices should be upfront like other things you
shop for.
About insulin... I don't know... for a 1000cc vial of Novolin a few years back when I checked was only 15 bucks. Most people won't need more than one or two vials per month. This is a buck or under per day. Problem is doctors almost never prescribe Novolin. As there is no money in it. But rather prescribe the latest and greatest insulins that cost a fortune. Nor will the doctors likely tell you about traditional insulins like Novolin. Thus the patients thinks they have to find the expensive stuff when it isn't true at all. Even though I don't pay for my insulin under VA care, they keep trying to change mine to the expensive insulins which I have tried them before. But I still prefer the cheaper Novolin instead. And that drives the doctors crazy. Because I keep my blood sugar well regulated and they have nothing to do.
The best medical system I ever heard of existed in China many eons ago. And surprisingly
Steamer861, it was profit based. I can hear ya now, but how? It worked by you paid the doctors when you were healthy and not when you were not. So the doctors had a profit incentive to keep you healthy. Both Canada and the US (as well as everywhere else) has it all wrong. Today, doctors make more money by keeping you sick.
