I did a Photo Estimate using Progressive insurance's app. The claim has been accepted and I'm waiting for the next email to be paid into my bank perhaps as early as today. I'm floored by the amount, the damage is to the front bumper assembly only and will require no parts but it appears they have an after market grille for $506. There has no damage to the grille.
All I'm going to do is clean up the bumper and brush paint that one spot and put the cash in my pocket. If I'm not satisfied with the results then I'll take to a shop.
I received the 2nd email. I choose direct deposit.
It will be 2 - 4 days for direct deposit to my bank, they could have put in on my debit card within 30 minutes. I never heard of tat except for refunds. Anyway all is done for the moment.
BTW, I use State Farm.
