Because it is on the very bottom and will end up scratched to heck and back, if it were glass it would be OK but I'm pretty sure it's plastic.Why would a cover over the screen bother you?
My droid has a cover over the screen, super convient if juice spills on it
DNA screens aren't the easiest to clean! I see the cover as a Pro

It's not just covering the screen, it the entire bottom of the mod.
The DNA screens are glass? Or the Dovpo screen covers? I slid the whole guts out of a HCigar VT133 once and the screen got scratched. Then I learned if you insert a piece of paper between the screen and the mod, that won't happen.

I just now double checked one and it glass.
On my Hcigar sqounker there was a plastic film on the glass, not to be confused with the one that come on a new screen.
I just checked my VT133 and it appears to have plastic film.

I don't think it will be easily scratched whatever material Dovpo used. Their high end stuff are really well made. The College looks like there is a metal rim that keeps the screen covering off of a flat surface anyway. Otherwise you could also use a screen protector on the bottom too. But I don't think it will be necessary.

I just got done using my 40 watt Vamo for a bit, worked pretty good. While it is PWM the cycles are high enough for it not to rattle snake. It has a spring loaded SS 510 too.
Interesting question, tried looking it up and ran across some posts about your v6. This is a v7. I found two minimum resistance specs. .6 and .8 ohm, the coil that I was firing was .46 ohm, go figure.
