Yesterday I read an article on how to activate Ransomware Protection in Windows Defender so I did it.
The end result was my newsreader was not permitted to extract the files from the WinRAR files so I turned it back off.

I heard the Colonial Pipeline ransomware attack didn't shutdown the pipeline, as that was working fine. But Colonial shut it down because their billing system was attacked by the ransomware.
I don't understand these people who run these big companies. Why on Earth don't they have a plan B and C? A simple backup should have restored everything back to normal. But no, they have to have a national crisis and have millions in a panic instead.

This is basic computer security 101. It's nothing but incompetence.
