Evolv Kick alternative (not IMR battery dependent)

The Kick has a one huge annoyance which is hindering me from buying it and this is IMR battery
requirement. The batteries are not easy to get here and i still have a stash of non IMR batteries
which i will use untill they all die

Before i start building my own buck boost conveter i would like to see if there is something on the
market which is a kick alternative, i dont really need top perfomance...

You will have the same issue with any boost circuit. IMR batteries are high drain so they are capable of the larger current flow required to boost voltage up. This means if you are stuck with lower drain batteries, like most protected Li-Ions, then you need to look for multi-cell setups and buck down circuits.

I don't know of a product on the market right now that meets your needs. Not that there is not one, but I am not on the leading edge of mod circuits.
