I vape about 20 ML per day of 1MG nic DIY juice.

I started vaping June 2015 and have spent well over $1,000 on equipment. I decided early on with vaping that I would figure juice out, since it was expensive and the consumable. With the extra money "saved" on juice I've blown on hardware. Vaping has become a sort of hobby and "collecting" to me. Most of the stuff I have sits unused in a desk drawer.

Only $1000 since June? I spent that within the 1st 30 days. I don't even look at the money saved on my counter....it's a lie!!! :)

I know a lot of people who vape 30+ ml a day, I don't but apparently it's not uncommon.

Most of the juice I have is $20+ for 30ml, I pay a little less per day than smoking but including atomizers and mods per year I about break even.
When I was in the military in the 70's, I could buy a carton of smokes for 10 bucks at the PX (no taxes). Today I could buy pipe tobacco and those empty tubes and make a carton for the same 10 bucks. I really don't think I could spend only 10 bucks of vape stuff and have like a carton worth of vape.

Rip Trippers in one of his videos (about a year ago I think) claimed he spent $25,000 in his first year vaping. I didn't even come close to that, but I know I spent over a 1000 bucks my first year. Most of that stuff I bought for the first 6 months was pretty much junk. Ego batteries and CE4 atomizers and expensive gas station juices which was pretty bad tasting stuff.

I am still spending about the same, but if sales of vape gear gets banned or something, I still can vape for the next year or two since I have been using that money to stock up. But from smoking three cartons a month for 30 bucks and vaping has been costing me about 200 bucks a month. Vaping is costing me far more. But it is healthier right?

People are too worried about how much money they saved by switching... how many weeks, months or maybe even years of your life did vaping save you?

Could care less about money, without health how the hell am I suppose to enjoy it?
Yeah but you don't know that for sure. Some cancers only show up when you quit smoking. So you are damned if you do and damned if you don't.

I was a two PAD and spent $15 but skoony seem's to have more willpower then I do based on his limited spending on gear.

I guess some people have better control over themselves then we do. I can't help but come out of my local B&M $100 lighter every time I go in. I've started limiting myself to bi-weekly visits though.

Much like rolling your own, DIY costs are tiny compared to most commercial liquids. I was at about five cents a ml, or $1.50 for a 30ml bottle, until I bought bigger quantities of PG, VG, NIC and flavoring. Now I'm easily at about a buck a bottle. Ten bucks is between 200ml and 300ml of liquid and pretty easy to mix.

I'm not. I enjoy vaping- I enjoy shopping. I am not going to sit around counting pennies for what I enjoy.
Now don't get me wrong, I can admit there were many times I was scratching together those same pennies drumming up money for cigarettes. The only difference here is I have pretty mods & attys to play with instead of an empty carton.

I'm not 100% I'm 1000% sure that had I not stopped smoking and started vaping my life would be far shorter, that's not even debatable. I was barely able to wake up in the morning without coughing up half a cup of flem a while back, today I run 3 miles every morning and barely break a sweat, there is ABSOLUTELY no denying that vaping will prolong your life vs smoking even a child can tell you that I know because mine did.

I've spent a fortune far more than I did smoking in my first six months. Not denying that it's definitely not cheaper than smoking if you start collecting a ton of gear but the sheer health benefits combined far exceed the drawbacks of some money lost. Besides over time I'm over it I don't buy much gear these days there's no point anymore I have enough gear to give our to everyone in my family and have that last them a lifetime plus I DIY, in fact the last couple of years I found myself able to take some unexpected vacations that was a plus.

Skoony, I thought Illinois was bad but you guys are getting killed at $15 a pack.

Maybe he was a 2 pack a day smoker?
2 packs a day sometimes more. My main set up is an Evod 1100mah battery
with an Iclear16 dual coil top feeder with battery back up. I have 4 generic 1500mah ego
style. 2 vision spinners and 5 kr808d1 (V2 cigalike style) batteries with kanger t4 and
esmart clearomisers. I have had 3 or 4 ego type batteries go bad. maybe 7 or 8 kr type
over a couple of years. Around my friends I am considered all in.:headbang:

Mike

Interesting that you neglected to use my follow up post where I mentioned that I am interested in hearing Joytech's side but OK. Using your analogy...
What if Johnny had a past history of hitting his brother with a bat & was repeatedly warned not to do that or there would be consequences? Is it OK to whip him?
Any neglect of noticing your follow-up point was unintentional. I'll PM you the number for my lawyers (Scheister, Crooke, Strippe and Peele, Esqs.) so they can hash out the damages. ;)

I'm wondering how dragging past behavior into the argument is pertinent. Has Joyetech been sued previously for patent or copyright infringement?

From what I can tell from the link in the opening post, indeed Joy Tech has been in litigation in the US previously. I have not read the circumstance or outcomes of previous cases, so I am unable to offer an explanation.

If you had read the filing by Evolv you would have seen:

Joyetech China 13. This Court also has personal jurisdiction over Joyetech China because Joyetech China has availed itself of United States District Courts in order to sue defendants in the United States, alleging infringement of Joyetech China’s own alleged intellectual property.

I believe they were sued over the eGo, it was actually the design of another company and Joyetech were to be the manufacturer. At least that's how I remember it.

If I got it straight in my head (the deets may be a little fuzzy), Ovale produced the eGo. Joyetech was the manufacturer & somehow stuck their name on it & it became the Joyetech eGo..... With no credit or compensation given to Ovale.

If I got any of this wrong, I don't doubt at least 10 people will set me straight.
