Ok that's fair. So do y'all both use strictly carts or just the wife? And some prefer that so I understand. It's all relative. I think carts are great afterall

We decided from the beginning that we would not treat vaping as a hobby. From day one, we're both vaping using cartomizers and plain-Jane, cig-a-like batteries. The only difference between us is that she likes pre-filled carts (I guess she's used to the taste), while I use tobacco-flavored ejuice to refill them. We have both been smoke-free for years.

It's been over five years since I walked away from a cigarette addiction of more than four decades. I'm one of those who made the change with virtually no effort as tobacco became distasteful the more I vaped. Since then, I've cut my nic consumption in half but not my vaping. Not the enjoyment nor the frequency nor do I intend to do so. Having read extensively on the benefits of moderate nicotine use, it seems only beneficial that I continue with this hobby. I'm having a darned good time and Godfrey Daniels; I've only just started DIY. There's so much more to enjoy.

Once again congrats. That sounds wonderful. Just trying to understand the mentality. Do you like the feeling of the cig a like? The size and weight? You can upgrade to a bigger kit withou making it a hobby. I just like the bigger kits cuz to me they deliver nicotine more effectively.

Of course, if my doctor says "stop", then I'll give it some thought.
If my doctor says "stop", it's time to find another doctor!
The other day, the nurse was taking my vitals and updating my chart before i saw the doctor. She said, "so you're still not smoking?". I said yes, over a year now, but I still get some nicotine by vaping. You would have thought I slapped her the way she looked at me. "But you are still getting nicotine and that's not good for you. Nicotine is just as bad as smoking."
All I could say, or wanted to say was "Whatever"! I didn't feel like arguing with her.

My original intention was to continously drop and quit altogether. I have dropped, I'm now between 3 and 6 mg, pretty soon all 3mg and I'll try 0. I really have nomore intention of quitting altogether anymore. I love vaping, just like I used to love smoking. I have some anxiety so I need something to keep me busy and vaping does just that, the nic helps too obviously. I love the taste, I love everything about it. I'm way happier vaping than I was smoking, I breathe better and have better endurance. When I wake up from drinking nights I don't feel like somebody stuffed an ashtray down my throat. And even though I buy more vape gear than I "need," the cost is still about half of what I'd spend smoking, and I don't even DIY anything. I love vaping.

I also love when people ask me for help about what they should get, or if people just need any vape help or info. I get a little chubby and then can't stop talking. Then people here know way more than I even do lol, so I ask you guys for help.

Congrats to you, too!

The thinking behind it is simple: quit smoking ... nothing else. To our minds, vaping with a cartomizer and a cig-a-like battery has done that. We don't need to go any further. Experimenting with different set-ups just sounds hobby-ish to us.

Your doctor is probably fine, but the nurse needs to go. ;)

I used to smoke half a pack a day and now I'm quit. I'm vaping 12mg now. I used to do 24. Granted I do sub ohm now. My main question is do you ex smokers ever plan on cutting down to zero nic if you haven't already. Do you ever plan on quitting altogether? Vaping for me has become a hobby and here's second part of my question. Do you consider vaping a successful quit of smoking? Many say not enough studies to say whether it's safe. But I think it's like saying if you smoke it's like souping up sports cars and street racing. Sure it's fun but super dangerous. Vaping is like souping up your car but instead going to car shows and drives. Much safer and a healthy hobby.
I do not plan on quitting vaping because I enjoy it too much. I am reducing my nicotine levels but do not plan to drop to zero because nicotine provides some benefit to brain function and digestion and by itself only poses minor heath risk. keep in mind that e-ciggs have been around for 9 years and there has been no serious health problem related to their use.only mild irritation in those who are allergic to PG.and perhaps a few injuries from extreme sub ohming. (battery fires and explosions). looking at the scientific evidence I feel that vaping is as safe as drinking coffee

Here's something I've been wondering. Last week, I was experiencing some of my usual (IBS) digestive issues, so when I mixed up some of my ADV last week, I lowered the nicotine from 10mg to about 9.2mg, thinking it might help alleviate some of the associated nausea. That did seem to help, and I didn't really notice any "withdrawal" type symptoms... except Saturday night, I was tired and harassed and got into a massive screaming match with my husband. I'm wondering if the lower nicotine could have been one of the "harassment" factors that put me into such a bad, stressed-out mood.

Take up cycling - the sense of achievment from having travelled much further spurs you on to do even more.

There's also those small trips to the shop where getting the car out seems like a hassle.
I rode a bicycle for exerciser before I quit smoking but now I find I can ride farther and do not get out of breath on hills.and a bike is good when you need to go to the store for 1 or 2 small items

I guess. So do y'all plan on quitting altogether then or just going with what you got. Not that I'm telling you to upgrade. But a really good cig a like is the halo g6. It's been my favorite so far. I'm glad you could do it without a mod. Idk if I could. I know g6 got me there tho.

At the moment there's no compelling reason to quit vaping or do anything other than to continue our non-smoking ways.

Of course, that would all change if a study came out saying that vaping posed health hazards comparable to smoking. Why replace one evil for another?

Until then though, we enjoy the nicotine, so we'll just go with the flow.
