You folks are awesome, I love the support and advice. I'm still concerned that I vape too much! It's only 12 mg nic, but I go through 2 cartomizers a day, and I only used to smoke one pack of ultra lights a day. This cart is supposed to equal 1 pack of smokes, so am I really doing myself any good? Any tips on how to better pace myself? I don't miss analogs at all after 10 days, still have 2 packs on hand but have not been interested (only a couple while waiting for batteries to charge). Don't want to replace one bad habit for a worse one!
Thanks!

I am assuming they are prefilled cartos but in any case it is normal to vape more to settle the cravings... I have never gone by the whole 1 carto= 1 pack thing... some places say 1 = 10 analogs, some say 15 some say 20.. maybe try upping the nic to 16 or 18mg depending on what they sell, and see how that works... also maybe see about filling your own cartos because it will probably save you some money... :)

Don't believe that for a minute. A lot of these companies, especially those in convenience stores and kiosks, claim one of their cartridges is equivalent to a pack of cigarettes. The kiosk where I bought my first kit claimed it was closer to 1.5 packs. In reality, it's not even close.

swedishfish is correct in the average being 3-5 ml per day. I run between 2-4, depending on what I'm vaping on. Also, just because a carto can theoretically hold ~1 ml of liquid, you're not vaping all of it. There is still quite a bit of liquid left well after it looks and tastes dry. That's why most of us who have done this for a while forgo prefilled carts altogether and get blanks. That way, we fill them ourselves and can top them off throughout the day as needed.

And another point: the consensus is that one puff of vapor delivers about 1/10th the nicotine as a puff from a cigarette. So it takes about 10 drags from an e-cig to equate to one drag from a cigarette. So to get your nicotine levels up to your pre-vaping levels (and, therefore, keeping yourself satisfied and away from cigs), you're going to naturally vape more. Just remember that vapor doesn't have all of the harmful chemicals (tar, ash, carbon monoxide) found in cigarette smoke.

So my advice: vape away with no guilt. :)

Who told you you a cart is equivalent to a pack of cigarettes? It's not true. They tell you that crap to sell kits. Be leary of any company that tells you that.

That's GreenSmoke prefilled, you all have already set me straight on that and I'm looking into a new system. Once I'm refilling with eliquid, I should probably look at refilling a couple of times a day? I can do that! Thanks so much!

They DON'T equal a pack of cigarettes....I guarantee that! That's just a sleezy marketing tactic used by SOME sleezy marketers. And...these don't deliver nicotine in the same way a cigarette does. I believe that you should vape as much as it takes to keep you off cigarettes here at the beginning. That's the point. And even if you feel like you're vaping more than you smoked, it's totally NOT the same thing. You're still getting nicotine (less efficiently) but you're NOT getting the 4,000 other lethal chemicals that they put in cigarettes. Once you truly are off of cigs, then you can worry about cutting back on your vaping. Baby steps. I'm totally convinced that these are so much better for us than cigarettes that I don't even worry about how much I vape. Once you're past the cig cravings, then you can begin to lower your nicotine level and/or slow down your vaping.

It's been my experience that vaping (and the nicotine involved) is not nearly as addictive as cigarettes are/were. I can go for hours without jonesing for my e-cig....and I couldn't go 20 minutes without wanting a cig back when I smoked. And I've gone from 24mg down to 20mg, down to 18mg, and now at 12mg of nicotine without breaking a sweat. Just let your body do it's thing for awhile: vape as much as you need/want to. It'll settle down or you'll be able to regulate it later.

That's what I needed to hear, GregH, since vaping is so satisfying, I need to be reminded that there is no actual SMOKE going into my body, so it Is a better choice. And I AM going to go for blanks. Thanks for the support.

Yeah, 2 cartos isn't much. If you've got an average sized carto of, say, 1.5ml, that's 3ml a day. I do that myself on average -- at 24mg, mind you -- and I'm absolutely fine. Love it, in fact. Don't sweat it. If you aren't getting headaches, dizziness and/or nausea (excess nicotine intake) you're doing just fine. 1 carto is definitely not a pack of cigarettes unless it holds around 3ml or more. The eGo Mega dual coil cartos, now that's a pack and a half easy. :)

Your body will tell you if you overdue the nic. Can't be said enough... be sure to drink plenty of water. Your body has to make the vapor from our water supply.

I'm about to celebrate my 6-month anniversary vaping and still going at it like a lab monkey.

The cart = 1 cig is a myth created by the sketchy sellers. If so, I was vaping 4 packs of cigs a day with my first mall kit ans still unsatisfied. That's how they justify a grossly overpriced, inferior product. Vape happy :)
