I really enjoy exercising and I am actually about to graduate with a Bachelor's in Exercise Science so I can be in the fitness industry. I was also a 6 year PAD smoker before I started vaping and I was exercising and would light up a cigarette afterwards (seems pretty counterintuitive right?). I quit working out for about 2 years and as you can imagine I became much weaker and gained a lot of fat mass and my lungs and heart started to deteriorate and lose their efficiency. I quit regular "analog" cigarettes and started vaping 5 months ago and recently started working out again about a month ago. I can honestly say that vaping has significantly increased my overall health. I am going to the gym 5 days a week now and I am incorporating cardiovascular exercise every day that I go. I used to be winded and short of breath after 1 mile of running that took me around 10 minutes to do. I am now able to run a 5k (3.1 miles) in just 23 minutes and I am not even winded after that. It actually feels good to go exercise my heart and my lungs. I can also tell that since I have started vaping that my Resting Heart Rate has decreased substantially and my Resting Blood Pressure has also decreased substantially (measurements will be taken in the next few days for a statistical comparison). I am so glad that I started vaping and my body is also very glad that I did too.

I wanted to know if anyone else has had any experiences like I have had and if so please tell your story so others can read about it and be inspired.

Prior to quitting, I was going to the gym about 4-5 times a week. I was only a 2-3 pack a week smoker so I wasn't TOO winded when I worked out but I could feel my lungs straining sometimes.

I quit last month and this week I got back into running again. I was amazed on how I was able to run for a while without stopping. My lungs felt great and I felt like I could take deeper breaths. Granted I did get tired after a bit but that's expected after not running for a while but I definitely don't feel "OMG my lungs hurt, I gotta stop smoking," tired. I'm now looking forward to my next run tomorrow morning!

I had been working out for a couple years before switching to vaping, so I haven't really noticed a difference. My heart rate and blood pressure haven't changed. (low-mid 60s and ~120\high 70s) The big thing for me is that I no longer have the tickle in my chest that would make me cough all the time (outside of exercise).
