Personally I love all the reviews of juices and many I would like to try. However, I find that some venders of "premium" juices charge shipping and handling that is simply out of line. I will not be purchasing from these venders and therefore may never get to sample their 'premium' products. I give kudos to shops who offer free shipping or reasonable rates for small packages and they will get MY business. Five to six dollars for sample bottles is outrageous! Competition is keen and I vote with my $.

I buy small bottles when I place a larger order and get more for my shipping costs that way. I agree that sample bottles don't weigh as much, but I think they are mostly using USPS flat rate for the size of the envelope they send.

I try to order 50ml minimum when I order. Of course, that doesn't help you much if you are trying to find a juice you like through sample bottle of many flavors. The cheapest shipping I know of is from Liberty Flights. As I remember, they charge either $1.99 or $2.99 for everything I've ordered, from complete Riva kits to a box or two of cartos.

You may want to do some reading in the threads where people talk about their favorite juices. Just use the search box on the top right to find "favorite juice".

It's often just not feasible to give free shipping. Some of us do get it as low as we can, anyway.

I usually take the shipping cost as a cost of doing business. Yes, it'd be less of a percent of the total order spent on shipping if I buy a huge order first off, but I never want to buy bulk juices I've never tasted.

A USPS Small Flat Rate Box costs $5.15 to ship so they aren't really making any money on shipping. Even going USPS First Class shipping will run around $3 for a small package. You also have to remember that shipping supplies for the most part aren't free (USPS FR boxes are though). I don't see how the shipping costs are exorbitant at all. I guess they could seem high if you never ship stuff and have no idea what's actually involved or the prices for stuff.

Paying a flat rate box price which is a little over 5 bucks doesn't really bother me, no matter if the order is 15 cents, it still cost to ship it. Some venders prefer just having a flat rate to keep it simple, I can understand that.

If we were doing business locally it's going to cost us 4ish bucks a gallon of gas to get to the vendor, kinda even things out when I think about it that way and can place orders without going anywhere. They can't give things away all the time and stay in business.

The classies is a great place to get to try various juices at a reduced price. You can buy and Sell. Those premium brands often move quickly in any flavor.

I look at it this way -- would you like to pay a lot more for the product and get free shipping (because nothing is free) or have the choice to order more from a vendor to help spread out the shipping costs?

Only time I've been PO'd about shipping was with places in China and not having the option for cheaper, thought much slower, shipping. When you pay more for shipping then the product is worth there is a problem, to me at least.

Inside the USA the costs seldom are more then the $5 or so for priority mail in the flat rate boxes. Even cheaper if shipped first class.

Just keep in mind, that businesses can get a discount rate for shipping if they do a certain volume. So if they charge us 5.00, is that what they are paying? I am not complaining about the charges, just stating a fact. I did shipping for the department I worked in for the first three years of my employment. As employees we were allowed to take advantage of the discount and jus reimburse them for it.
