I just wanted to pre-emptively post to let everyone know that we are expecting some crazy weather here in Atlanta. I know it happens all over the country, snow & ice, but when it happens here in the south, everything kind of stops. Nobody has snow tires or anything like that, and the department of transportation isn't equipped to deal with the frozen roads.

The main reason I'm posting here, though, is that major icing is expected, which tends to result in power outages. So if you are emailing us and getting zero response in the next day or two, it's because we've got no power. (One of those times when one wishes for an i-phone or something, which we don't have!) Rest assured that if this does happen, we will be checking and responding as soon as we have electricity!

Much love to all of you!

We got about the same-- west suburbs here, near Six Flags. We are holed up in the house, warm & cozy! Jenn, did you play in the snow? lol We sledded down the road, may as well have fun with it!

ONe other thing, and this will affect our customers. The mail didn't run yesterday and isn't expected to run today. I believe it will be back to normal tomorrow but I can't promise. I do promise that all orders will get out ASAP.

fyi: i don't recommend venturing out today. yesterday afternoon was decent, because it was slushy. stuff was melting.

but today it's all ice, so it's actually worse today than any day yet.

maybe this afternoon, around 3, it will be at its warmest and may be the time to go if you HAVE TO go. otherwise, stay in. the worst part of the driving conditions is not the ice. it's the other vehicles. cars were left EVERYwhere with no regard to how they'll impede traffic. too many people have gone out today thinking it's no big deal, and THEY become the obstacle to avoid.

hang in there.

We played in the snow the first day. After that everything had this really slippery ice coating everything. It wasn't much fun trying to bust through 1/2" of ice. Just walking around it was stabbing me through my galoshes every time I broke through it. I was like, forget this and stayed inside. Our mail ran today, but it was only one day's worth of mail (I'm assuming Monday's?). And the DOT? Ugh. I realize this is Georgia, and we're not exceptionally prone to bad snow, but the fact that they are still telling us nearly a week in to not get on the roads unless it's an emergency is ridiculous. My bank wasn't even open until noon today, and then they closed at 4pm.
