I will echo the sentiments of others here and say I haven't felt excluded in any way since I joined this forum. Quite the opposite, in fact. Everyone has been welcoming and friendly, and quick to answer any questions I've asked. That's great, because it doesn't do any good to have a place full of information, if you're afraid to ask the questions.

A very wise lady in history said this, and I took it to heart years ago:

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.

I actually agree that there's some elitism among vapors.

In the scheme of things, vape gear is hardly a status symbol.

I do find this humorous, to be honest.

By the way, that "hot girl" with the heavily drawn on eyebrows and 2 rows of false eyelashes wouldn't be my idea of hot

But like vape gear, it's all a matter of taste, how you vape, how you do your makeup......really, who cares?

I say just PLEASE YOURSELF.

No, not joking. I look at the guy in shock when he told me this. He did say I could watch him build a coil which he happened to be working on when I walked in but I said a few things on why this was wrong and left. It was Pure Vapor. I see now they have several stores. Not sure if it's just this one store or not. There are vape shops every other block around where I live so I'm fortunate enough to be able to go to other shops that don't discriminate.

Are you joking? Please tell me that you're joking, Susan....

Yep, rockin' the EVOD knockoff and MVP2, while the Reo is gettin' a good cleanin'! And, yes, everything in life that we personally treasure or hold as "hot" or "cool" or best is another person's ugly, dumb, or lame. Live and let live. Or, rather, vape and let vape :vapor:!

I have never seen any direct snobbery here, I think this is a remarkably cohesive group actually. I do (and maybe this is my own insecurity) feel a bit odd because there are plenty of posts looking down on the set up that I have chosen with my cig a likes. Not everyone wants or needs to evolve from cig a likes, in my case, I think it is a frequency issue. I calculate I go through 2-3ml a day. Compared to many users on here, that is not a lot of juice, and my little batteries last plenty long for me, I have several, I love my little cartridgrs, love my juices, I am a happy girl.

So it is odd to see my cig a likes, for lack of a better word, bashed. I get the feeling that the experienced vapors assume all us sillies who use them will come around eventually and get "a real set up". That mentality, while not overtly hostile, does not always feel good
Patty, just to let you know.....I have been at this for over four years and have all sorts of vaping gear. I STILL use and enjoy cigalikes :) There is a place, a need and sometimes a reason for using certain things. Don't ever let anyone make YOU feel badly for whatever you choose to use.....vape on!

I can honestly say that I have NEVER seen any snobbery or anything of the sort here on ECF. From the very beginning, when I knew absolutely nothing about vaping and I had the most basic equipment, I was told by the 'veterans' that I had made a good choice regarding my equipment because 'whatever worked for me was the best for me'. I have asked many questions that may have been totally obvious but I was always given a very helpful, encouraging answer. I have learned a lot from everyone here on ECF. I would not still be here if I felt it was elitist or snobby.
I am very sorry if you had a bad experience here on the forum, but I promise if you give it a try you will see that the people here are awesome!! I have seen the most kind and helpful people here on ECF.. It seems everyone is willing to go above and beyond to help out even the newest members.

Welcome and Good Luck!!!

Ive somewhat seen what you are talking about online & irl.. but mostly I see support. I mostly see people stating and supporting the idea that if it makes you happy and keeps you off analogs then heck yes!

I was satisfied w a fat bat I had a year back.. got a mvp2 and am in love. Id recommend it but would never judge someone for not sporting it.

Although i definitely wont hesitate to give a cigalike user advice (rare they satisfy)...but if they are happy... so am I..

I still have eGos I use 5 years in. I use lots of gear that I like, doesn't make it better or worse than the choices others make, just the right choices for me. Vape on.

Exactly my friend, I could give a sheeit what people think is "newbie" equipment/methods, different strokes for different folks.

I saw a new member asking for advice and giving his/her background vaping which entailed the use of Egos and cigalikes and asked not be be "judged" for that. Frankly I was aghast reading that and didn't get it. I posted that I use those and was surprised he/she felt they would be judged. Now I think I get it. I haven't seen much of it here and when I have I've just considered it immaturity but I guess it happens with everything depending on how insecure the person is.

Now, not to offend those who like these for sport... just the "pic worth a thousand words" thing.

Whoa whoa, yes I totally agree. I swore I added at my local shops sorry , this site and forum(s) have been amazing so far NO SNOBBERY whatsoever, that was a misspeak on my part. I have truly met some amazing vapers on and off this site, and believe me I hear what your saying, I'm a person that probably tries too hard to see the good in people, in fact I force myself too because that makes me a happier person (one of the many helpful tips from zen bhuddism), I've literally seen one guy in my hometown act like a hipster (just bashing on someones preferences/tastes, going on about how he's got it right and the other poor guy didn't, being very rude about it as well (this guy was a little off his rocker)), and a few on popular youtube reviewers comments. But 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of all vapors I've met are friends now, and ones that I can truly nerd-out with and be genuine with. :toast:

I LOVE E-CIGARETTE.COM, I LOVE VAPERS, I LOVE YOU! but no I'm not sensitive to .........-ness, I could give a .... less, I just don't want this culture to be tarnished with haters that's all.

Hmm, there's a B&M by me that's "like" that. Guess what, they don't get my money. I am too old to put up with "false airs" and "elitism" in any area of my life. That's why I hang out here; lots of good, kind, and smart folks (experienced and inexperienced vapers alike) looking for camaraderie, commiseration, friendship, and sharing! That's why I give my money to ECF!

My thoughts exactly sir, I just have a bad feeling the awesome world of vaping will give birth to some snobby "wine tasters" out there, if that makes sense.

I've been to a few B&M stores that made me feel like an "outsider", for lack of a better word.

Right, I love all vapers, especially on this site! :D But you get what I mean, they almost have this vibe that they know they're cooler than you, or they're on the varsity team and your a towel boy :p.
