most of the battery "explosions" i have read about is when they are either stacked or the wrong charger used on them. i always use the charger that comes with the unit.

more often then not, i plug my battery in and leave it over night. im not worried about it exploding.
i have better things to do than watching it charge. i guess it COULD happen but so can phones...i dont sit and stare at it either, while charging.

garage logic goes long ways.

There have been issues with the wall mounts as well as the USB ports. No they aren't often, but even once should make people take notice.

Is it really worth it to leave it charging over night or when you aren't home? That isn't something I can not answer for anyone else, but for me, I may not have much, but what I have is important to me. So I am not going to risk it over something like a $10 battery.

I worked at dell doing tech support before. I replaced many batteries and chargers in laptops for them catching on fire. Like I said, not extremely rare. The engineers told us it wasn't the battery but a faulty charger causing most of them. I'm not really sure if they knew what it was for sure, though. It was so bad they did a recall on some of them as well.
