Okay, I have never gone down this road in my five years on ECF but I will now for the sake of this topic...
And I do not mean to be a ........., even if I may sound like one...
But...
I have a 165 IQ and I graduated with honors from UCSD.
I majored in psychology, but minored in
physics and philosophy.
And for all of that, I did not know that batteries were dangerous.
Yes, that's right, even as a physics minor it just never occurred to me.
But I can tell you about the Theory of Relativity theory if you are interested.
And even if it had occurred to me, I would have assumed that the manufacturers had taken the proper precautions to eliminate the possibility of catastrophe.
But the fact is that these steps have not fully been taken, perhaps because such steps are not even possible.
The real problem is that the consumers have not been appropriately notified.
That's the bottom line.
You can call consumers in general stupid, and you might be right.
But if your tried to call me stupid, you'd be wrong.
I only found out how dangerous batteries can be from being here on this forum.
Why I was so oblivious to this I can not say, but I was.
I charge my Ego Twists and Vision Spinners in a LiPo bag, because I was MADE aware of the dangers involved here on this forum.
I don't want an uncontained fire in my home.
I doubt that even 20% of the people on the street are aware that batteries can be dangerous.
And I hate that I had to post this, because I know I must sound like a ..........
And I apologize in advance to the extent that I may seem to be one.
Because I hate douchebags.
But if I need to be a ......... to make this point, then I will.
It's a very important point, and well worth making.
